This multi academy trust has a strong presence across the Merseyside area and, due to growth in the trust, they are looking to appoint an IT Technician to join their team at a secondary school in the Sefton area. This secondary school has an excellent reputation locally, coupled with excellent facilities and a very supportive staff, it is an excellent choice for an IT Technician looking to further develop their skills and progress in their career. Based in Sefton, it is easily accessible from either Merseyside or Lancashire, with good transport links and close to the M58 motorway.
Your new role
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing IT support to end users based on site at this secondary school, supporting both pupils and staff to ensure a high level of IT support is provided. From a support perspective, this will involve supporting with hardware, software, networking and supporting with bespoke technologies which are unique to the education sector, supporting staff with the use of devices and providing training when required. This could involve the building of new hardware, installing and updating new software, introducing new technologies to users and also liaising with external IT providers. In addition to providing IT support, this role will also involve supporting the delivery of IT projects across the school and wider trust, working closely with the IT Manager and therefore exposing you to more advanced systems and processes. This is a role where there is career development and progression available as this role will evolve as the trust grows.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will possess recent IT support experience, with specific experience of providing face to face on-site support to end users, whilst providing a high level of customer service. Experience working in the education sector would be beneficial, as well as a knowledge of education sector technologies, however this isn't essential. You will be a proactive and dedicated individual who has the desire to further progress their knowledge and ideally with the aspiration of further progressing their career specifically in the education sector.
