The opportunityThe opportunity exists for a suitably experienced candidate to contribute to support delivery and administration of sports rehabilitation and soft tissue therapy provision on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also be expected to support research activities and the supervision of student research project data collection and as appropriate. Completion of administrative duties and contribution to the enterprise activities of the School will be required.
Qualified to undergraduate level you should have a proven understanding of sports rehabilitation theory and practice and the ability to teach theoretical and practical techniques. You should have experience of a clinic environment and be able to rehabilitate a breadth of sports injuries.
You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise laboratory work and processes undertaken by staff, students and visitors.
Demonstrate practical techniques and processes and the operation of equipment in teaching rooms, specialist facilities to staff, students and visitors.
Advise and support academic / research staff and students on the use and application of techniques, equipment and process associated with programmes of study and research and innovation activities.
Support the delivery of practical and seminar sessions aligned to practical work and which have been planned by academic staff.
Advise on the purchase of new equipment and required maintenance of existing equipment. Purchase replacement or new equipment and consumable items. Undertake budgetary control, in close liaison with discipline staff and SROM.
What we are looking forDegree in a relevant discipline including sports therapy / sport and exercise science / rehabilitation.
A recognised qualification in sports massage.
Experience and expertise with laboratory equipment including calibration procedures and minor maintenance.
Experience of teaching and assessment
Experience of appropriate computer hardware and software packages
Experience of health and safety and producing associated documents
Experience of delivery of sports rehabilitation and soft tissue therapy
