We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our team.

Our Maintenance Operatives are responsible for ensuring that our properties are maintained to the correct level, and any works that need to be carried our are done in line with specific timescales. Duties include:

• Ensure a high standard of workmanship when carrying out maintenance repairs to the Home.

• Use materials in order of date of purchase to minimise wastage and to ensure that when purchasing materials, value for money is obtained.
• Keep any designated work/storage areas clean and tidy, with regard to relevant health and safety requirements, including ensuring that COSHH materials stored correctly in accordance with COSHH procedures
• Occasional attendance at homes/services as required to load and unload furniture items and/or domestic appliances.
• To attend any training that Voyage consider applicable.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the operation of the following services in each home/service
  • Emergency lighting systems where applicable, fire panels, break glasses and fire doors.
  • Lighting re-fixing or replacement of fittings including emergency lighting
  • Electrical repair/replacements within the scope of Part P
  • Plumbing system including waste outlets, taps, sanitary ware, unblocking of drains, toilets etc
  • Laundry equipment including connecting and disconnecting of machines, including plumbing in of replacement machines as necessary and removal from site of redundant equipment

Main purpose of the role

To assess, recommend and complete mechanical repairs to enhance the value of wholesale remarketing vehicles.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- To complete mechanical repairs in line with approved methods.

Our client is seeking a Trainee Fire & Flood Restoration Technician to join them on a full-time permanent basis working 39 hours per week Monday to Friday starting on site at 8.00am with the chance to work paid overtime during busy periods throughout the year. It is essential that you hold a full driving licence to be considered for this position along with your own transport.

As a Trainee Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, you will be responsible for stripping out fixtures and fittings from residential properties following floods and fires, setting up drying equipment, heat pads etc, collecting equipment. In this role you will be fully trained to become a Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, will undergo on the job training, and will undertake relevant courses and certifications to compliment your job.

As Trainee Fire & Flood Restoration Technician, you will have come from some form of builder / labourer / construction type role where you have worked with building materials. Consideration will also be given to applicants with strong customer facing skills, installations of equipment, removals, or similar. It is essential that you have a full clean driving licence and are happy to travel across the whole of the 'TA' postcode to customer properties to undertake your work. You must live in the same postcoded areas or very close.

In return you will receive a starting salary of £25,000 which will progress with length of service, accreditations, training etc. You will also have your own works van, 25 days paid holiday plus statutory holidays, pension, career development and much, much more.
