This position is located in the Intelligence Analysis Division, Intelligence Services Bureau, Protective and Intelligence Operations, United States Capitol Police. Provides assistance and/or performs work to facilitate actions for major segments of complex intelligence, investigative and analytical activities for a broad geographical area. Gathers sensitive evidence and intelligence information that aids and enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the United States Capitol Police (USCP) protective security programs and services.

Plans, collects, and analyzes intelligence information from unclassified and classified sources while staying attentive to emerging intelligence sources and trends. Manages the collection of publicly available information in a given geographic region or a specific subject area to meet mission needs using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) including mass media, the internet specialized journals, studies, conference proceedings, geospatial information and more. Provides support and assistance and/or evaluates and interprets incoming intelligence reports and other information vital to the success of the USCP protective and security programs.

Press Content Development

• Writes, publishes, reviews, and measures the success of press releases on AmeriCorps.gov (Drupal), advisories, social media, and other relevant materials, aligning plans with agency goals and objectives as directed by the Press Secretary.
• Writes briefing memos for senior leaders for upcoming interviews. Contributes to the strategic development and production of media materials.
• Provides CEO and senior leadership with regular updates on press activity, press production, crisis response, and CEO social media.
• Organizes the press editorial calendar.
• Consults with managers and specialists in the Office of Communications and Marketing to provide media expertise, strategic direction and approaches, and assistance with other mission-related tasks.
• Stays abreast of the latest trends for effective media relations and communication to targeted audiences, focusing on strategies to increase visibility for the work supported by AmeriCorps.

• Manages day-to-day press and media outreach to cultivate and sustain partnerships, including managing the press inbox, responding to inquiries, and scheduling and staffing leaders for interviews.
• Coordinates media and public affairs requests, including interviews and filming inquiries.
• Monitors and reviews all media coverage and public engagement events which includes occasional weekend and evening support for senior leadership when there are interviews, media events or press conferences.

• Strategically pitches agency or program-specific stories to TV, radio, print news outlets and journalists that result in media coverage. This position serves as the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer (DCHCO) for Strategy and Services, Office of Human Capital (OHC), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security. This position is located within OHC under the ICE Management and Administration Directorate and serves as a key representative regarding human resources (HR) matters. As the DCHCO for Strategy and Services, you will be responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day operations of the following programs:

• The Employee and Labor Relations Unit (ELRU) administers statutes, laws, and regulations governing conduct, discipline, performance, and labor matters. ELRU provides guidance and advice to managers throughout ICE with the goal of maintaining employer-employee relationships that support productivity, motivation, and positive employee morale. ELRU administers the agency's Collective Bargaining Agreement, represents the Agency in labor negotiations, and provides high-quality advice and guidance to senior leaders, managers, and supervisors to make effective decisions to advance organizational change. In addition, ELRU serves as advisors to management on disciplinary matters for all ICE personnel and assists ICE managers as they go through the disciplinary process to resolve issues and to improve the ICE work environment. ELRU also administers the Agency's performance management system and awards program and advises supervisors on addressing performance-related matters.
• The Medical Affairs Unit (MAU) provides medical consultation with ICE management and staff on Family and Medical Leave Act medical qualification requests, pre-employment medical qualification reviews, reasonable accommodation medical qualifications, hardship transfer request medical qualifications, medical fitness for duty evaluations. In addition, MAU manages ICE's Medical review Board, Office of Workers Compensation Claims, and Drug Free Workplace Program.
• The Employee Resilience Unit (ERU) administers programs that identify personal and community strengths, provide valuable resources to prepare for the challenges ahead, and offer assistance and support to all ICE employees and their family members in times of personal need or following critical or traumatic incidents. These programs include ICE's Employee Assistance Program, Peer Support Program, and Chaplaincy Program, as well as a variety of programs and services that promote a healthy work-life balance.
• The Executive Services Unit (ESU) provides advisory, technical, and operational services pertaining to the Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior Level employees, Presidential Appointees, and Schedule C employees. ESU provides technical advice, guidance and support to the ICE Executive Resources Board and SES Performance Review Board; oversees the development of Qualifications Review Board documentation for SES position selections for referral to the Department of Homeland Security and Office of Personnel Management; and manages ICE's executive resources and senior executive and senior level pay-for-performance systems.
• The Strategic Initiatives Unit (SIU) improves organizational performance by better aligning workers with the work they do. Using systematic and scientific processes, SIU engages in workforce planning activities to identify employee capabilities needed; creates and maintains personnel selection assessment programs to hire and promote employees with those capabilities; and supports employee engagement initiatives to enhance employee's connection and commitment to ICE's mission.

As a Audiovisual Production Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

• Use in-house audiovisual (AV) production equipment for internal and external communication products, including operations, lighting, directing on-screen talent, and other
• Coordinate and schedule the logistics for projects, production elements, and final product deliveries;
• Develop, or aid in developing, informational, educational, or other materials appropriate for video, AV, or web-based formats;
• Draft concept, or assist in the development of a concept, for a submitted project. Work with end-users aiding and guidance in the development of the project;

As a Foreign Affairs Specialist:

1. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the review and analysis of proposed U.S. exports related to direct or indirect assistance to engage or participate in the production of special nuclear material to ensure consistency with U.S. laws, regulations (10 CFR Part 810), policies, and objectives. In implementing this responsibility, the incumbent will interact with other U.S. departments and agencies, multilateral organizations, and foreign governments concerning effective means to implement governmental regulations and requirements; and manage national laboratory activities that support primary and related duties. Additionally, the incumbent may be tasked with supporting other Nonproliferation and Arms Control and Office of Nonproliferation Policy duties, as assigned.
2. The incumbent's anticipated work scope is significant and includes managing time intensive reviews and, in many cases, statutorily required engagement with industry, the interagency, Congress, and high-level DOE/NNSA officials up to and including the Secretary of Energy. This work requires quick but careful and error-free turnaround of these packages. The work can be of a highly variable nature as each request has its own specific requirements, and an understanding of evolving policy requirements as well as the legal foundation of the work is essential to its success.
3. This position also requires sound knowledge of interagency processes and relevant positions, as the work typically cuts across NNSA and the interagency. The incumbent will develop Congressional reports and prepare responses to Congressional and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, when necessary.
4. The incumbent will be expected to exercise appropriate judgment in supporting the review and implementation of existing precedents, legislation, and broad agency policy statements to develop new or improved approaches to advancing NPAC programs and priorities, and to apply these skills in ensuring effective programmatic and budgetary metrics are met on a timely and regular basis.

• Drafts and verifies long and short-form content in a fast-paced environment, including national service and volunteerism think pieces, Op-Eds, blog posts, recruitment collateral, web content, emails, and social media.

• Carries out efforts to increase security situational awareness of, and minimize risks to, information systems through a comprehensive vulnerability alert, assessment, remediation and reporting process.

As an Emergency Management Specialist (Geospatial), you will:

• Serve as a Senior Emergency Management Specialist (Geospatial) with responsibility for applying operational expertise to function as a Team Leader for the GIS program and develop emergency management reporting products supporting the Office of Emergency Management's 24/7/365 mission.
• Perform and provide key program implementation of DOE, NNSA geographic information systems initiatives and operations.

PSB collects and analyzes information to produce intelligence, assess threats, enforce the law, identify risks, and develop and employ risk mitigation, Member protection, and enforcement strategies.  Specialty Units include Investigations and Dignitary Protection.

A United States Capitol Police Special Agent within PSB performs a full range of protective and investigative functions.  Special Agents are assigned to PSB’s Dignitary Protection Division (DPD) or Investigations Division (ID). The PSB DPD is responsible for carrying out protective functions and operations. The PSB ID is responsible for investigating violations of the D.C. Code and Title 18 of the U.S. Code to include allegations of criminal activity, terroristic activity, and threats or unusual interests against Members of Congress and other statutory protectees of Congress that occur in the jurisdiction of the USCP as defined by 2 USC § 1966(a) & (f).

DPD Special Agents - 
Provide protection of congressional leadership, including the coordination of security arrangements for domestic and international travel through advance security surveys and on-the-ground protection.
