We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior HR Manager to lead our Human Resources department. This role is integral to managing the full spectrum of HR functions within our construction company, from recruitment to employee relations, compliance, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business plan and company culture, focusing on both short-term and long-term goals.
- Talent Acquisition: Lead the recruitment process for all levels of staff, from entry-level positions to senior leadership, ensuring that we attract top talent for both office and site-based roles.
- Employee Relations: Foster a positive and safe work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts, particularly in a high-pressure construction setting.
- Performance Management: Develop and maintain effective performance management systems, including regular reviews, goal-setting, and feedback mechanisms to drive employee growth and productivity.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the company is in full compliance with local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and construction industry standards. Implement risk management practices to minimize HR-related legal risks.
- Workforce Planning: Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to forecast labor needs for ongoing and upcoming construction projects. Manage workforce allocation across multiple job sites.
- Training and Development: Design and implement employee training programs, including safety training, leadership development, and skills enhancement, to ensure that employees are well-prepared to meet the demands of their roles.
- Compensation and Benefits: Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring that packages are competitive and aligned with market standards.
- HR Reporting and Metrics: Generate HR reports and analytics to provide insights into employee performance, retention rates, and staffing needs, helping to inform decision-making at the executive level.
- Employee Engagement: Lead initiatives to enhance employee morale and engagement, with a particular focus on site-based teams.
- Health and Safety Oversight: Work closely with the Safety Manager to ensure that all HR-related safety procedures are being followed and that health and safety standards are continually improved.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably within the construction industry or a similar field
- Strong understanding of labor laws, employment standards, and safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead recruitment for both blue-collar and white-collar roles, with a focus on large-scale, project-based hiring
- Experience in conflict resolution, performance management, and workforce planning
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
