The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a naturally curious, and detail-oriented individual to join our Internal Audit team. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating and improving our internal processes and controls, while supporting the delivery of our ambitious Internal Audit plan, taking a risk-based and value add approach.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit and working closely with our Operations, Services and Finance teams, the Internal Auditor will undertake a range of activities to assess and enhance our overall operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Conducting Audits: Executing regular audits across various businesses, in-store or using data analysis.
· Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborating with management to address issues, upholding our continuous improvement ethos.
· Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring compliance with legal regulations and internal policies.
· Internal Controls: Evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and procedures.
· Communication of Findings: Sharing outcomes with stakeholders using appropriate methods.
· Risk Management: Implementing a risk-based approach in auditing.
· Stock Take Administration: managing the stocktake programme and method and liaising with the external stocktaking team.

You'll bring strong emotional intelligence, exceptional attention to detail, and a creative, agile mindset. An independent and professionally sceptical approach to auditing is key. Comfort in a fast-paced retail setting and clear, constructive communication with diverse stakeholders are essential. You'll be keen on using data and technology-driven methodologies in auditing and eager to identify tech opportunities as audit outcomes for enhanced performance.
Required Skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
· A good working knowledge of retail operations and related processes is essential.
· Some proficiency in excel, Power BI, or Audit related technology, is desirable but a willing to develop further skills is essential.
· A background in auditing or a similar role would be advantageous.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role. This role will be office based, with an element of hybrid working if required.
