Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Develops and provides COR training, ratification training and other acquisition training requirements as defined by leadership.
- Serves as the principal advisor to the NCM on all matters affecting contracting training, systems, and procedures.
- Exercises responsibilities involving work assignment to insure a standard approach is used for training and to identify and additional training opportunities.
- As technical authority, formulates, coordinates and secures approval for complex training products and evaluates impact of training programs on NCO resources.
- Develops and presents contract training concepts and strategies to the NCM and promotes the total contracting vision by soliciting commitments from functional areas within VA and other government agencies and private entities.
- Develops and establishes guidelines and training expectations for all acquisition staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee annual performance plan/appraisal system.
- Assists with the development of individual training improvement plans for acquisition staff and provides advice and counsel to supervisors related to staff training matters.
- Participates on national work groups to develop standardized training plans and training presentations for customer and continued education purposes.
- Implements acquisition training data base for all acquisition personnel and CORs.
Promotion Potential: This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-12. At the lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed, and no promise of promotion is implied.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary in nature. There are no special physical requirements. The work is performed primarily in office areas or conference rooms and similar environments. However, it may require some traveling and visits to Government and/or contractor's facilities and other contract-related performance sites.
