Sandhutton Growers Limited T/A Herbs Unlimited in North Yorkshire are recruiting for an Apprentice Herb Assistant. The successful candidate will work towards their Level 2 Warehouse and Logistics which will take approximately 14 months to complete.
Duties:
- Assisting Goods In controller to book in all product and items used within the business
- Checking quality of products upon intake and during storage
- Producing labels and traceability codes
- Managing stocks
- Vacuum cooling
- Running products to the production lines
- Continued hygiene of the area
- Organising waste lines
Dispatch:
- Assisting Dispatch controller in the checking off finished products
- Collating the products in the dispatch fridge prior to them being loaded onto delivery vans
- Coordination of Drivers and vans to meet the customer deadlines
- Label printing for the production teams
- Checking of temperatures of finished products
- Checking off the products per customer against the order
Dry Pack Packing operations - Flow Wrap, Bulk Machine, Hand packing and Salad mixing
- Weighing of individual herbs and loading them onto the flow wrap or Bulk machine. Creating 35gm bags up to 500gm bags
- Labelling of products
- Packing bags into outer cases as per the individual customer orders
- Making up outer carboard boxes
- Mixing salad components as per the ingredients list
- Continued hygiene of the area
Washing – Low care
- Preparation of Lettuce and Herbs prior to washing
- Grading of product for identification of foreign bodies and quality issues
- Operation of Slicing machine for slicing of herbs as per customer specification
- Operation of different types of washers
- Handling of cleaning agents to be added to the washers
- Ensuring continuity of Traceability
Washing – High care
- Packing of products as per customer requirements
- Spinning products in the drying machines to ensure excessive water is removed
- Labelling of products as per the customer specification.
- Ensuring good hygiene levels are maintained
