About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to live their best lives. Your days will be dynamic and varied, ranging from social activities like bowling, cinema trips, and shopping to providing practical support with health management. You'll also be responsible for liaising with health professionals to ensure that the individuals you support are receiving the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting individuals in fun, engaging activities such as bowling, cinema outings, and shopping trips.
- Assisting with daily tasks, including personal care and health management, ensuring individuals maintain their independence.
- Liaising with health professionals to coordinate appointments and ensure medical needs are met.
- Adapting to the changing needs of the individuals, providing personalised care and support plans.
- Building confidence and promoting social engagement to enhance overall well-being.
About You: We are looking for confident, compassionate, and dedicated individuals who can make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support. You will need to be flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to the varying needs of each person.
Key Skills and Qualities:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Experience in social care or support work is desirable but not essential—full training will be provided.
