What skills and experience we're looking for

Windsor Forest College Group is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join the Creative Arts team at BCA on a part-time basis.
This is a 22-hour per week role per (Working days: Tuesday Thursday and Friday)
LSA – Creative Arts
Working 22 hours per week (0.6 FTE) this term time-only role requires you to work 37 weeks per year. You will be supporting students in the wonderful Creative Arts department at Berkshire College of Agriculture enabling students with a range of Special Educational Needs to access the curriculum as fully as possible.
By following the example and direction of the Learning Support Manager and Lecturers you will assist in teaching, learning, and associated activities in accordance with college policies, procedures, and individual EHCP (Education Health and Care Plans). This may include supporting whole classes, working 1 – 1 with students, or in small groups.
We’re looking for someone with a passion for supporting students and removing barriers to learning and inclusion.

Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant qualifications to include either A Levels, NVQ3 (including English and Maths) or NNEB plus GCSEs grades A to C / 9-4 in English and Maths or recognised equivalent - essential

- In the absence of the relevant qualifications the candidate must have at least 2 years relevant experience supported by a written statement from a line manager and demonstrate that they meet the professional literacy and numeracy standards expected of the role at interview - essential

- Have attended relevant SEN specific CPD - essential

- Experience with pupils with learning difficulties / SEN - desirable

- 2 years’ experience within a school-based setting / learning environment - desirable

- Qualified First Aider - desirable
