IT Senior Solutions Architect

We are currently looking for an IT Senior Solutions Architect to join our team who will spearhead the development of comprehensive architectures tailed to establish an Engineering Asset Management capability using IBM Maximo.
Working collaboratively with the bids and projects teams, you’ll lead IT design development by capturing and defining customer, security, and operational requirements. Utilising various architectural models, you’ll deliver solutions that optimise efficiency and security while meeting business objectives. The role requires experience within the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) discipline and will have a focus on designing and deploying EAM solutions to manage complex and/or regulated assets.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Act as a Technical Design Authority, ensuring the design is compliant with Serco and MOD/Customer requirements.
- Lead on the development of the IT Architecture through the capture of customer requirements and assessing suitable solution components to meet these requirements.
- Develop high-level use-cases, demonstrating the desired functionality and interaction with systems.
- Giving key focus to Application Services and API’s, identifying current and future system interactions and exchanges of data.
- Responsible for the ownership and/or construction of the technical architecture for a specific bid or contract, working with IT suppliers to ensure their systems meet the business requirements and are technically compliant.
- Understand the direction of the business/bid, its imperatives, any future challenges and how these may be supported by an appropriate overarching IT architecture and principles.
- Leading on solution/bid briefings through the governance process and ensuring Serco’s that the solution is approved by all stakeholders.
- Provide solutions design assurance through the bid/project transition phase to ensure the solution design is implemented as per target architecture.
- Engaging with Infrastructure/Hosting Architects and DevSecOps functions to develop solution artefacts
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Experience in designing and deploying solutions which utilise Asset Management software systems, preferably the IBM Maximo Application Suite v8 or similar EAM product sets.
- Experience in working on major Government/Ministry of Defence (MOD) contracts and bids, including knowledge, and understanding of MOD specific standards such as the Joint Service Publications (JSPs) and the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP).
- Understanding of Applications Architecture and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience in API design and specification
- Experience in developing test and migration strategy artefacts
- Degree in IT related discipline along with an understanding of modern IT infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies.
- Effective communication skills that enable you to convey complex technical details to clients in a straightforward manner.
- Ability to identify technical issues and design solutions to fix them, gathering and assimilating information.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to build professional relationships with clients and operational managers.
- Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation, and best practice.
- Please note that the successful candidate will need to obtain SC Clearance to fulfil this role.
