- Initially working 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, but eventually moving to 12pm - 9pm, Monday to Friday, with some weekend and night shift flexibility required as needed
Halo Recruit are working in partnership with a global leader in temperature-controlled distribution to recruit for an experienced Transport Clerk to join their team in Grimsby.
Duties of the Role:
- Monitoring of the day-to-day transport operations for the site
- Help keep our fleet safe and legal by managing all aspects of vehicle and driver compliance
- Carry out driver performance management.
- Liaise with other Company depots and delivery points
- Driver and fleet assignment using transport planning system
- De-briefing drivers
- Delivery rejections - temperature, damages, wrong product
- Create goods return notification (GRRS) for all delivery issues
- Dealing with vehicle and trailer breakdowns
- Stock allocation
- UN invoice job report
- Diary departure management
- Scanning, indexing, and filing
- Invoicing and status reports
Desirable Experience:
We are seeking candidates who have strong administration experience, preferably gained within a transport-based role, however this is not essential.
Strong IT skills are essential, as much of the role will involve working with systems and databases along with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages.
You'll also be comfortable with working to stringent KPIs and tight deadlines, able to work well as part of a team to get the job done.
The key aspect of this role is the need for candidates to be flexible in terms of covering shifts, and the need for them to committed and reliable, and have a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
This is an ongoing placement, with the potential to gain a full-time contract after 12 weeks (subject to performance, conduct and attitude) therefore only candidates looking for a long-term, permanent position who can commit to being flexible to support the operation, and have an excellent work ethic should apply.
Hours of Work
The role will initially be working 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday during the training period, but will then move to 12pm - 9pm, Monday to Friday, with the need for flexibility to meet the demands of the business as needed. This will include the ability to support other shift patterns, including nights and weekends, as needed. Please only apply if you can be flexible in this way.
Rate of Pay:
This role pays £12.52 per hour, paid weekly in arrears.
