The Hillingdon Hospital wishes to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellowto join the General Surgery department for a 6 month fixed-term contract (03/04/24) - 01/10/24).

The job covers a wide variety of general surgery and colorectal surgery. It is expected that the candidate will be closely involved in the colorectal service providing support in both elective colorectal surgery and out-patient commitments.

This is an excellent senior post with lots of scope to improve both elective general and colorectal surgery as well as emergency surgery.

The role will focus primarily on colorectal and general surgery and the post holder will be required to partake in the on-call rota. The post is essential to meet the ongoing colorectal and General Surgical expansion.

The department has 11 substantive consultants and five locum consultants with middle grade and juniors to support them. This post does not have educational approval and is therefore a service post.

Additionally the candidate will participate in elective general surgery operating lists including elective colon resections, laparoscopic cholecystectomies and both laparosocopic and open hernia repairs.

The Hillingdon Hospital, which is situated near Uxbridge in the south of the London Borough of Hillingdon, has over 600 beds. In the north sector, Mount Vernon Hospital is also managed by Hillingdon Trust.

The hospital offers a wide range of specialities, treating 44,000 in-patients a year. Amongst these services is a large A&E department, which deals with approximately 100,000 attendances per year, an Acute Cardiac Unit and Intensive Care Unit with an adjoining four-bedded High Dependency Unit.

Five years ago the A&E department underwent a redevelopment programme. Facilities exist for assessment, treating and discharge of minor injuries. In addition to the refurbishment of the resuscitation area, there exists a five-bedded Observation ward. A Medical and Surgical Assessment Unit is on Fleming ward to which all emergency admissions are directed. There is already consultant physician presence and responsibility in place for medical emergencies.

Hillingdon Hospital has seven operating theatres including a dedicated Orthopaedic theatre. The hospital has an excellent Day Care Unit adjacent to the operating theatres comprising of 23 beds. At Mount Vernon Hospital site there is a new treatment centre providing modern Orthopaedic and General Surgical wards, theatres with laparoscopic facilities and outpatient consulting rooms.

The Division of Support Service offers excellent diagnostic facilities in Endoscopy, Pathology, Radiology and Medical Physics at both sites.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the complex discharge teams in the Heart, Lung Critical Care Clinical Group. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Administrator to join the Complex discharge teams across Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently as well as part of teams that work on both sites (Royal Brompton and Harefield). The post is based at Harefield but will require the post holder to cover administration tasks at the Royal Brompton with occasional travel there. This is a full time position (37.5 hours). The complex discharge team comprises of social workers and clinical nurse specialist who are responsible to managing transfers of care from hospital and ensuring the provision of ongoing care. This involves liaison with multi agency and providers.

The post holder will provide administrative support to the Complex Discharge teams across Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. They will support the management of referrals to the complex discharge team and independently carry out patient initial assessments and screening to prepare for discharge from hospital. Where appropriate this will also include organising discharge follow-up with local community services, including GP surgeries. If you want to develop your knowledge, skills and experience in the acute, stroke and neurorehabilitation settings, this post will offer a variety of caseload experience and professional development opportunities, including completion of the RCSLT Newly Qualified Practitioner framework and in-house dysphagia competency training.

This role is split between our acute, stroke and neuro-rehabilitation caseloadsand requires regular, joint multidisciplinary team working. There will be opportunities to gain experience across acute and rehabilitation settings including opportunities to provide regular teaching and training to nurses, medics and other AHPs.



The post holder will be required to provide specialist assessment and treatment along the various clinical pathways including neurorehabilitation, stroke, care of the elderly, general medicine, respiratory and trauma. • Managing the day-to-day operations of the children home
• Ensuring that the home complies with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the home is safe, effective, and responsive
• Recruiting, training, and managing a team of care professionals
• Providing leadership, guidance, and support to staff to ensure that they deliver high-quality care services
• Ensuring that care plans are developed and implemented in line with the needs of individual young people.
• Monitoring and reviewing care services to ensure that they are meeting the needs of children and young people and their families.

Requirements:

• Registered Manager with Ofsted (preferred)
• Residential experience within young people service (essential)
• Level 5 in Leadership & Management or working towards
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
• Experience in managing budgets and resources
• Passionate about providing high-quality care services for children and young people.

Are you an experienced administrator, looking for a new challenge? Practice Plus Group are seeking a dedicated, organised and detailed orientated Resource Administrator to join our busy London out of Hours service delivering innovative Integrated Urgent Care. You will be responsible for creating accurate rotas ensuring that all areas of the service are covered by both clinicians and operational staff. You will be playing a key role in arranging shifts for bank and locum medical staff using shift pattern information. The successful person will need to be able to adapt to last minute changes requiring immediate cover as well as arranging rotas on a long term basis. As well as working with current staff, you will also be the first point of contact for new staff joining the service. You will be arranging training, inductions and collecting any outstanding documentation needed before their first shift. Alongside your administrative duties, you will be reporting any queries and problems that arise.
