The incumbent is assigned to VISN 4, within the Caregiver Support Program (CSP). The incumbent although stationed at the VISN-with primary role of CSP clinical eligibility reviewer-may have clinical privileges and credentialing at a VA Medical Center (VAMC) or Community-based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The incumbent may have up to 20% of their time dedicated to a combination of direct clinical care, academic teaching/training, research, and/or program evaluation at their home VAMC. This work would be separate from caregiver support. The duties for the incumbent, must be at least 75% administrative and related to the CEAT. The other duties will be determined by the incumbent and their VISN leadership.

Each individual CEAT team member will review the Veteran's medical record summary, most recent History & Physical, findings of recent testing at the facility, caregiver assessment and care team input. The team member will present their respective findings to the inter-professional team. The team will meet and render a multi-disciplinary decision regarding clinical eligibility, based on all eligibility requirements. If deemed eligible, the team will also determine the appropriate level of caregiving required (tier level). Each team will document the findings and determination and communicate the decision with the referring facility or region.

Major duties include, but may not be limited to:

• Reviews dispositions of PCAFC initial eligibility decisions; reassessments; and appeal decisions for clinical eligibly determinations, within 45 days of receipt from facilities and other CSP VISN CEAT. This is done from a psychological perspective.
• Analyzes mental health data obtained from VHA electronic health record and collateral records for use in determining PCAFC clinical eligibility and documents findings in approved CSP PCAFC templated notes.

Responsibilities are complex in scope and have a nationwide impact including the ability to ensure implementation of an effective enterprise quality management system that includes monitoring and evaluating the quality of clinical and administrative processes throughout the Veterans Crisis Line.

Major Duties include, but are not limited to:

As a Quality Assurance & Technical Specialist, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all pension guidance delivered meets established quality standards and is technically accurate. You’ll work closely with the Pensions Operations team, focusing on calls, webchat, and written enquiries to maintain high-quality service delivery. Our remit has expanded to incorporate the Freedom to Speak Up guardians as well as the Health and Wellbeing team, allowing us to bring a broader, multifaceted approach to each of these.
• We are looking for a subject matter expert with a passion for work in the EDI space. In the role, the successful applicant would have the opportunity to work directly with the Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Manager as well as the EDI and Sustainability Director and they will work alongside two other EDI practitioners. The successful candidate will support and contribute to the creation and delivery of our EDI strategy and action plan. They will respond to organisational needs with regards to EDI and support with large-scale projects including the NHS Equality Delivery System, WRES & WDES, SOMIS, and more. In addition, we require some experience of supporting colleagues and their managers in assessing needs and making recommendations for reasonable adjustments.
• Previous EDI experience is essential either within a specialist role or as a champion. Most importantly we require an individual who has a passion for and a commitment to the principles of EDI. As a facilitator of change, the ability build strong working relationships is critical as is a high level of enthusiasm and motivation. The job holder will must have the courage to speak truthfully and challenge appropriately while remaining empathic and sensitive.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Previous experience in an EDI post or champion role
• Good working knowledge of EDI legislation
• Genuine passion for, interest in, commitment to, and knowledge of the principles of EDI
• An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
• Experience of working with reasonable adjustment/access to work programmes
• Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required

Desirable:

• EDI qualification
• Project management qualification
• Experience in working in/with Occupational Health
