What the school offers its staff
Information about the School
Moulsham Junior School and the H.I.V.E Family
Everything that we do at Moulsham Junior School is based around our core values; which are traditionally known as the four S’s namely: Sharing, Supporting, Striving and Succeeding.
We believe that if weshareour time, compassion and smile with all we meet our school will be a patient, kind and happy place to be. By offeringsupportto each other emotionally, socially and with our learning we will develop understanding and tolerance of the diversity within our world. If westriveto challenge our academic capacity, we will be lifelong learners with a growth mind set open to ambition. It is these three values that enablesuccessbe that emotional, spiritual, cognitive, physical or social.
We are a fully inclusive school, supporting a wide range of needs. As a result of our inclusive nature the pupils at our school have an excellent awareness of the variety of physical, emotional and educational needs. The children value this and, consequently, develop a considerate, caring and respectful attitude towards each other.
Over the past five years (with a break during the global pandemic), we have been discussing ways of improving even further and this led to discussions around forming a multi academy trust (MAT). The priority is to enable our school to continue to provide an excellent education for our pupils, whilst maintaining each schools’ ethos and identity. We believe by working together more closely with like-minded partner schools, we can achieve great things and provide an excellent educational experience in which all our pupils can thrive.
Consequently, the governing bodies of four schools have now formed a MAT and over time other schools in the local area have stated an intention to join the new organisation. The formal partnership (MAT) will be built on the strong foundations of our existing organisation and will continue to work closely with the schools not joining the MAT as early adopters. The Trust will be known as the ‘HIVE Family of Schools’ (Highly Inclusive Values-led Education) however, the member schools will each retain their current names. Because our schools are already successful in their own right, they would retain much of their independence whilst benefiting from being part of the MAT. There will, however, be the opportunity to further improve outcomes by developing and enhancing the curriculum we offer, sharing best practice and making significant financial savings. The schools will also be able to support and challenge each another in a much more meaningful way.
