The Parking Services Team is situated within the Highways & Transport Services within the Corporate Services Directorate.
Reporting to the Civil Enforcement Supervisors you will be responsible for patrolling the Thurrock area ensuring that vehicles are complying with the appropriate Traffic Regulation Orders.
You will enforce parking by identifying vehicles parked in contravention and serving Penalty Charge Notices in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Council. The role requires officers to carry out on street foot patrols borough wide. Working outside in varying weather conditions and walking up to 15 miles per day.
This role also monitors the conditions of signs and lines related to parking restrictions and reporting defects.
The role will be rotated on a two shift basis, week 1 Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm Friday 8am to 4pm, week 2, Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm.
Previous civil parking enforcement experience is essential. Minimum 6 months.
A Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check at basic level will be required for this role.
Previous experience in a regulated parking profession is essential.
A Clean Full UK Driving Licence is preferred for this role.

Thurrock Council is seeking an experienced Building Safety Manager to join the Technical Services Team within the Housing Department.
We have a housing portfolio of approximately 10,000, the assets themselves are spread across the Borough and vary significantly in regard to size and build type. The portfolio includes a large number of residential flats of which include fifteen high rise residential tower blocks and it is for these that we are seeking two experienced Building Safety Managers.

The Building Safety Manager's will play a key role in the future management of these tower blocks, the purpose of these roles is to work with various teams within the housing department to effectively manage the tower blocks in respect to building and fire safety by ensuring they coordination the health and safety requirements of planned, major, and cyclical obligations within these buildings in line with legislative requirements.
The successful candidates will play a leading role in resident communication in these buildings to ensure that residents are provide with a suitable platform to engage in regards to the management of the tower blocks. - Work with the Senior Community Engagement Officer - Outreach and Liaison and staff to initiate and develop partnership working and outreach.
- Assist in the production of performance reports, briefings and bulletins for Members, senior managers, residents, council and external partners.
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, have a deep understanding of community needs, and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
You must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings and be able to travel around the borough.

The Library Development Team is dedicated to enhancing the library's services, resources, and community engagement. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring that the library meets the evolving needs of its users through innovative programs and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementation of community groups, activities and services consistently across libraries.
- Working with Steering Groups and other local groups to enable communities to organise and deliver community led initiatives, empowering, and enabling volunteers to contribute to their communities and meet local priorities.
- Managing and leading the Library Community Engagement Officer.
- Developing a sustainable future financing plan to continue the extended opening hours of Tilbury Library and Hub.
