Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Perform a wide range of programmatic and operational functions for the HPE Office.
• Oversee all functions related to the administration of HPE funding, accreditation, appointment process, and affiliate relationships in accordance with VHA directives, handbooks, policies, memos, and notices.
• Play an active and influential role in day-to-day medical facility policymaking, planning and decision making.
• Serve as the technical and subject matter expert (SME) for HPE programs to include undergraduate and graduate medical and dental education, nursing, associated health, and advanced fellows.

As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER), GS-0080-09, you will manage deployment and logistical assets to ensure productive and effective utilization of materiel funding and requirements for all Security Forces tasks and responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Leads multi-functional Program Support Team including, but not limited to, Engineers, Quality Assurance Specialists, Industrial Specialists, Software Specialists and Contracting personnel.

The purpose of this position is to assist the Wateree Recreation Area Manager in the daily operations of Wateree Recreation Area, which include, but are not limited to, cabins, RV and tent camping, bathhouse, equipment rental, boat ramp and dock, beachfront, and events/programming. In the absence of the Recreation Area Manager, the position is responsible for the overall daily operation of the facility and park. It may also require assisting at Shaw AFB Outdoor Recreation at the direction of the ODR Director. This position is responsible for preparing recurring reports and records, consolidating daily financial reports, managing deposits, assisting with budget management and collecting and accounting for fees and charges. The role involves responding to patron inquiries, maintaining various usage contracts. The position also plans, develops, coordinates, publicizes, and conducts a variety of core programming, instructional classes, and high-risk adventure programs in support of a diverse Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP) under the guidance of the ODR Assistant Director/Programmer. It includes assisting other recreation aids, assistants, and specialists in the operation, upkeep, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, evaluating and addressing violations of boating safety rules, swimming area rules, and other recreation area guidelines, and assisting with the preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The role maintains accountability of funds, resale items, and equipment, accurately records transactions and fees collected, verifies accuracy against receipts daily, ensures secure maintenance of cash tickets and receipts, promptly collects fees, prepares cashier reports and deposits, and prepares monthly activity reports. It also involves conducting inventories, assisting in the control of issued equipment, and may require working an uncommon tour of duty, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as well as occasional travel. Independently conducts group guidance sessions of a varying nature. This counseling deals with institutional adjustment, U.S. Parole commission, release planning, and interpersonal communications, individual counseling sessions varying in methods and intensity relevant to the individual's problems. They may focus on helping the individual offender understand and live within the complex family circumstances and assist him in developing new adjustment techniques. The Case Manager helps the offender view problems objectively and to deal with them realistically. Routinely deals with community resources to secure information and develop release plans. Prepare special progress reports for such consideration as parole, transfer, restoration of forfeited good time, and makes appropriate recommendations. Corresponds with attorneys, judges, probation and parole officers and other professionals regarding the inmate's case.

Prepares diagnostic studies, responsible for collecting, interpreting and evaluating factual information reflecting developmental and circumstantial factors for the assigned caseload of inmates. Acts in a liaison capacity with other units and institutional employees on matters concerning inmate behavior. Serves as the primary liaison with the U.S. Parole Commission in reporting the inmate's program progress, readiness or lack of readiness for release, and resources in the community relevant to the desirability of his release. Actively develops program planning by presenting cases to the Unit Team and coordinating case management services with other correctional disciplines.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

The incumbent serves as a working leader for 1 WG-10 Maintenance Mechanic, 1 WG-9 Maintenance Mechanic, 2 WG-8 Maintenance Worker, 2 WG-8 Gardener, 8 WG-6 Cemetery Caretakers, temporaries, apprentices, and work studies as applicable. The Cemetery Caretaker Leader will also perform a variety of seasonal grounds maintenance tasks associated with interments, gardening, grounds maintenance and facilities maintenance on cemetery property.

Receives work assignments from the Supervisor (Operations Foreman). Relays to other workers instructions received from the supervisor, provides adequate work for the entire crew. Ensures that required plans, equipment, materials, tools, and appropriate supplies necessary to complete assigned tasks are obtained from appropriate sources. Brings to the Foreman's attention any shortages of personnel, equipment, or other resources that may have impact on the work.

Work schedule: May be required to work Monday through Friday to include occasional weekends. Due to the mission of the National Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days at any given time. Additionally, when a Federal holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, staff may be required to work on that holiday or a Saturday. All staff is required to work Memorial Day each year. Staff will be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery.
