About You

As a Room Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management within your room, therefore strong leadership skills are a must. You need to be an excellent role model and have a passion for children’s learning & development. We don’t just want you to follow the EYFS, we want you to go above and beyond, by encouraging each child to outperform and be the best they can be.

The successful candidate will:

Hold a full and relevant Early Years qualification at least Level 3 or above
Have proven experience in managing a unit within a similar setting
Be an exceptional mentor and early year’s practitioner
Have a solid knowledge of the EYFS
Have an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene
Be able to build strong working relationships to ensure common goals can be achieved
Need a clear and valid enhanced DBS
Be flexible with the working week
Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively to colleagues of all levels of seniority
Have experience working in a baby room
As part of your professional development we expect all staff to undertake and continue their training. We will therefore discuss suitable further development training as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities and Duties will involve:

Ensure daily, weekly and monthly checks in the room and agreed action plans are completed effectively
Ensuring accident trends are monitored and actioned appropriately
Lead and manage your team and ensure they are motivated and trained as per their individual needs, ensuring this meets the needs of the unit.
To oversee the nursery in the short absence of the Manager or Deputy Manager.
To be a key holder for the nursery.

This team is headed up by the lovely Kellie our Nursery Manager and many of the team at this nursery have been with us for several years. They’re a supportive bunch – passionate about their work and the children. This setting has just 56 places for children aged six months to five years, giving it a more relaxed home-from-home feel than larger settings. It consists of three light and airy rooms with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. At Raised in Bristol we offer play-led learning in a space that prioritises a nurturing environment with a focus on nature and nutrition as children take their first steps towards school. Located just a 5-minute walk from Cabot Circus and Stokes Croft, both have regular bus links across Bristol, also only a 10-minute walk from Montpelier train station and easily accessible by bike. This nursery is really central and as a result parking in the area is tricky so we are looking for candidates who can reasonably commute on public transport, by bike or who live locally.
