The Firearms Specialist provides a Dress Blue Experience and executes departmental procedures and follows all firearms regulations. Reports to the Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Operations Manager or Store Manager.

Focuses on delivering a best-in-class customer experience and driving strong customer engagement with the firearms department.  Focuses on solution-based selling, offering applicable accessories and services to the customer in addition to the firearm.  Required to strictly adhere to all governing bodies¿ processes/requirements including but not limited to: ATF, FFL, DOD, Marine Corps, State, Corporate and local command for selling, handling, receiving, transferring, inventory management, and records management for all weapons and ammunitions.

Communicates with management to support customer inventory requests and general business needs.  Uses exception reporting to identify merchandise categories requiring corrective action to protect sales and customer service levels. Follows the special-order process according to standard processes. Supports advertisement and promotional set up requirements including, merchandising, signing, pricing and other tasks as needed. 

Must be flexible to support the operations of the building/command they work in.   Will actively engage with Sales Managers on all departmental operations including ensuring RIMA (Retail Inventory Management Application) scans are completed and follow through is executed to include inventory adjustments when necessary. Supports and participates year-end inventory planning, execution and researching variance reports.  

Will be asked to support store operations in areas of POGs (Planograms), replenishing the sales floor, managing on hand integrity, receiving of products, backroom organization, customer program engagement, cash register duties and other operational tasks both within and outside of the assigned department. May be periodically assigned to work in other areas of the store (outside firearms) when firearms workload is not present, is significantly diminished, or there is more staffing than required workload within firearms.

Mentors, trains and leads by example for firearms employees to achieve best practice and brand standards. 

Maintains highest service levels, and communicating with all stakeholders, including customers, associates and all management levels.  Completes all required training to maintain Firearms eligibility. May work outside of retail in other firearms activities within MCCS including but not limited to the firing range, or target practice facility.

May maintain some or all key holder standards; Opening, closing, vendor management, light custodial duties and register operations/cash handling.  May require additional training, certifications or licenses as required by the business / position including but not limited to, food safety training and military star card access. Participates in year-end inventory. Identifies and communicates potential risk of loss and/or theft.

Performs other duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 45 lbs. with assistance may be required.  May require loading and unloading of trucks, carts, or pallets. 

Responsible for providing advanced product knowledge, educated recommendations and Dress Blue Experience to all customers throughout their Marine Corps Exchange shopping experience. Responsible for meeting personal and department sales goals. Coach Sales Associates on product knowledge areas related to particular categories such as: electronics, shoes, jewelry/accessories, firearms, military clothing or other assigned areas. May be scheduled at the checkout, other departments sales areas, specialty category or customer service desk for coverage. Reports to the Sales Manager. Takes advantage of all training opportunities to develop selling skills in product categories. Works with Team Members to develop their product knowledge within the category. Remains committed to learning about the brands and products sold within the store. Educates customers on product questions and provides suggestions when needed. Relays customer comments and concerns to the Sales Manager. Identifies opportunities to produce add-on sales through suggestive and consultative selling. Ensures all sale, ad and promotional items are signed and placed according to brand standards. Works with the Sales Manager to achieve daily and weekly sales goals. Assists Sales Managers and Brand Integrity Manager in the planning and execution of all corporate sales programs, promotions and other events where merchandise is involved. Builds and nurtures loyal MCX customers. Encourages and empowers all team members to identify opportunities to resolve customer problems and concerns before they happen. Communicates any outstanding problem resolution issues with the Experience Manager. Understands and articulates all MCX value stories, programs and promotions. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. May require food handling safety training, handling and certification. May require training and handling of Western Union and other customer services offered. Performs other duties as assigned. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 20lbs independently and objects over 20lbs with assistance.

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Performs assignments that are agency-wide in scope and have significant impact on issues facing the operating unit. Conducts business impact assessments of field and headquarters operations, serves on task forces or study groups, and performs independent analyses of area or nationwide program operations.
• Comprehensively plans, analyzes, determines cost/benefit relationships, and coordinates a variety of functions, operations, teams, or interfacing administrative systems.
• Independently studies complex problems facing operating unit functions or those of particular concern within specialized areas of the organization. This may require coordinating input from activities outside the division and identifying new methods of performing work.
• Participates with cross-functional representatives on nationwide activities within the operating unit, including workplans, business plans, etc. Conducts studies and analyses to support operational reviews, measure achievement of goals, execution of plans, compliance with directives, and utilization of resources.
• Analyzes assigned program area(s) to discern trends in program delivery. Consolidates report data to measure effectiveness in meeting baselines or the degree to which program plans and achievements support strategic agency initiatives.

• Support services include use of the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System II (CEFMS II) for preparation of travel orders, temporary vouchers, training and purchase requests,
• Screens/receives telephone calls and visitors to the Executive Office.
• Assists with overseeing the Executive Office correspondence quality control program (per AR 25-50, Preparing and Managing Correspondence).
• Serves as the Government Purchase Card (GPC) and Training Card holder for EO and Small Offices.

This position is the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Specialist in the Homeless Programs. This position provides case management and intervention support to Housing and Urban Development- Veterans Affairs Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program in a team oriented, recovery-based program.

Major duties includes:

• Provides continuity of care between Homeless Programs through services to Veterans with SUDs as they transition from programs such as Domiciliary or Residential Rehabilitation and Treatment Programs (RRTPs), Health Care for Homeless Veterans Contracted Housing, and Grant Per Diem Programs to HUD-VASH.
• Provides on-going substance use case management and early treatment interventions to promote sustained stability and abstinence in HUD-VASH subsidized permanent housing.
• Develop appropriate professional relationships with the Veterans and meet the Veteran where he or she is ready to engage in treatment.
• Develop liaison relationships with more acute treatment providers/ programs, such as an Intensive Outpatient Program.
• Provide appropriate group and individual case management and treatment.
