Under the general direction of the Principal Inspector or Supervisory Principal Inspector accomplishes the following duties:

A. Technical Administration

On a continuing basis, ensures assigned organizations are properly and adequately organized, staffed and equipped; establishes and conducts adequate training programs; maintains record keeping systems; and facilities and ensures procedures meet all regulatory requirements.

Incumbent is responsible for collecting resumes and scheduling interviews for openings in Extended Care. Medical Coverage Coordination
Incumbent serves as the coordinator for the off-tour coverage of the VA NJ HealthCare System Lyons Campus. VA NJ policy MS-04 requires a medical physician to be on station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Incumbent coordinates the hiring, scheduling, and time and attendance for the Medical Officers Of the Day (MODs). Incumbent serves as a liaison with the Medical Administrative Assistants (MAAs), Medical Administrative Service, to coordinate on-call schedules.

ADPAC
Incumbent deals with all computer and technology related issues for Extended Care. This includes troubleshooting technical problems with hardware and software, serving as Extended Care representative to Information Management Service on various committees and workgroups, and participating in the rollout of any new information management initiatives.

Correspondence and Minutes
Incumbent completes clerical and correspondence duties as assigned. Incumbent is specifically responsible for twice-weekly Nursing Home Screening Committee minutes which must be completed and circulated immediately following Screening Committee meetings. • Maintain calendars for organization and its leadership.
• Serve as the point of contact for information on policies, procedures, and requirements on matters pertaining to administrative functions.

• Review project costs incurred to ensure all expenditures are appropriately documented and remain within the department's established operating budget.
• Prepare and review a variety of procurement documentation, funding documents, administrative reports, and similar documents required to support program funding and procurement actions.
• Coordinate the organization's hand receipts to properly account for high-value items, lab and/or durable equipment in support of operations.
• Assist in coordinating organization events which include but are not limited to: cadet summer internships, project competitions, conferences and other events sponsored or attended by the organization's staff.
• Maintain Approving Official's (AO) budget by loading funding targets into the Defense Travel System (DTS) budget module, updating as required.
• Assist in the preparation, consolidation and completion of a variety of management and research reports.
