Job title: Manufacturing Network Adviser
Salary: £32,000 to £40,000 per annum
Based at: Chesterfield, Derby or Nottingham with agile working. Additional travel required across the East Midlands
Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)
1. WHY THE POST EXISTS
Do you have an enthusiastic approach to your work supporting businesses to grow and sustain growth, ideally in the manufacturing sector? Can you lead and deliver a marketing strategy? Have you got proven project coordination experience? And, do you understand the business support services available in the East Midlands?
The East Midlands Manufacturing Network (EMMN) is a business-led support network set up by the Chamber seeking an adviser to drive the network forward. Open to makers of any size in the region, the fully subsidised network is an integral part of our goal to bring together key support for manufacturers and help drive growth for the regionally important sector.
The role will become the main point of contact for the network, helping manufacturers to:
- Increase awareness and create a positive perception of manufacturing to attract investment to our region.
- Hear from industry experts who can provide an insight into addressing challenges faced by manufacturing businesses.
- Increase awareness of the diversity of career opportunities in manufacturing to tighten the skills gap in the sector for future generations.
- Stay informed about the financial support on offer and tap into specialist advice to grow.
- Get involved in lobbying activity to make sure their voice is heard, locally, regionally and nationally.
This role will suit an experienced adviser or individual seeking to develop their skills as a business adviser while spearheading this important regional initiative.
2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Lead and deliver an active EMMN marketing strategy to actively support the promotion of the service with the intention of growing membership.
- Provide dedicated advice and support to manufacturers and act as point of contact for the Network.
- Coordinate and attend network meetings held throughout Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
- Create an energy around manufacturing in our region, helping to spot and act upon opportunities (e.g., encouraging manufacturers to source supplies locally).
- Work with and ensure strong and effective relationships with stakeholders including:
1) The EMMN Chair and Vice Chairs, particularly in developing the programme of support and agendas for forum meetings.
2) Manufacturing businesses, including on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure the support on offer continues to meet their needs.
3. IDEALLY APPLICANTS WILL POSSESS
- Manufacturing sector knowledge.
- Marketing expertise with excellent social media skills.
- Project management and/or coordination experience.
- Demonstrable experience of providing advice and support to businesses.
- Excellent organisational and administration skills.
- Highly motivated with good resilience.
- Skilled using Microsoft office and CRM systems.
- Willing to travel across the geography to support the network.
