You will join us on a full-time basis (hybrid working available) and in return we can offer a salary c.£50,000 to £55,000 p.a. dependent on experience, plus benefits. We strive to achieve very high standards of teaching with regular staff development. About the Finance Manager role: We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to join our team, based in Cambridge. Working closely with and reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will lead a small team and be responsible for ensuring that financial reporting information produced by the College is timely, transparent and accurate, to enable clear financial management of the College. This is a vital role which will provide both support to the Director of Finance, together with operational management of key parts of the College’s Finance services, resulting in the delivery of efficient services to support the College vision. You will be responsible for development of the College finance system and reporting, Sales ledger/Sales Ledger Admin, Purchase Ledger and the month end process. To be considered for this pivotal role you will be a finance professional and will be CIMA, ACA, ACCA or CIPFA qualified or equivalent with experience of successfully managing financial functions and working with devolved budget holders. The College will also consider applications from experienced part qualified accountants and Accounting Technicians You should be able to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills which empower staff to perform to their full potential and drive financial awareness and improvement across the organisation. You will have drive and ambition and the ability to work both independently when required and to bring the team together to achieve objectives. You should have a strong commercial awareness, be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and ideally you will have previous experience of developing and assisting in the delivery of financial training. It is essential that you have the ability and interest to be involved in the day to day operations of the department. Maintaining thorough familiarity with the relevant general practice payment regulations and requirements, and ensure that the implications of all amendments are understood and implemented. Ensuring that all income is claimed/invoiced, received and banked. Support the practice budget, manage and plan through provision of timely reports as agreed with the PM and the Partners. Support to maximise NHS and private income through the PMS contract, Quality & Outcomes Framework (QOF), Enhanced Services, other national and local incentives, and advise on income generation initiatives. Work with the Practice Manager to collate and submit in an agreed timescale with the accountants year-end figures promptly and liaise with the accountant. Administer NHS Pension returns and payments within agreed timescales. Administer payroll including checking hours worked, calculating pay, tax and pension contributions, starter/leaver forms and source documents are collated and submitted to our Payroll company in an accurate & timely manner. Administer Inland Revenue returns and payments at required intervals. Administer NHS Pension returns and payments within agreed timescales. Oversee the completion of the following by the business administrator: Monitor and reconcile income and expenditure and purchase ledger transactions Invoicing income streams Manage appropriate systems for handling and recording of cheques Contract Management To read and be aware of all the primary care contractual obligations, including; Enhanced Services Locally Commissioned Services QOF (Quality Outcomes Framework) GP Contract Medicines Management and additional Services

We are looking for a Deputy Head of Finance with the drive and passion to support decisions that help deliver the best care for our patients. You will be working in one of the largest Trusts within the UK.

The ideal candidate will have extensive management accounts knowledge and experience and will be comfortable presenting and interpreting complex information to senior staff members, both financial and non-financial. The role will have team management responsibilities therefore you will need to demonstrate team leading ability, strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The Deputy Head of Finance, where required, will represent the finance function at Management & Operational meetings and support with providing strategic financial and business planning advice in line with Trust objectives. The post holder is expected to interpret Trust policy and be skilled in presenting highly complex, and sometimes uncomfortable, information to make persuasive arguments for a course of action to a range of senior managers.

At all times the Deputy Head of Finance must ensure that statutory and other returns conform to national accounting standards to reflect a true and fair view. The post holder must adhere to Professional Bodies’ requirement for Continuing Professional Development and maintain an understanding of changes in the NHS Financial Regime.

• Providing in depth analytical support to the Head of Finance.

Details of the roleThe post of Assistant Bursar (Finance)/College Accountant is a permanent role, reporting to the Senior Bursar.
