They are the technical stakeholder interface for customers looking to connect to our transmission network and undertake power system analysis against industry codes and standards to inform customers connection offers. The team are also the custodians of the network models across SSEN Transmission, and are responsible for building, maintaining and quality assuring the network models as well as the software packages used for the system studies.
The team are seeking graduates with degrees in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Renewables or Computer Science, and are based in Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Control Centre: The heart of SSEN Transmissions daily operations for the overall secure transmission of electrical energy and for the safety of SSE field engineers working on-site. The team are constantly balancing various key factors including the availability of electrical components found at over 150 substations, planned outages for repairs and maintenance, response to disasters and faults, accurate data interpretation and more. Being part of the Transmission Control Centre allows individuals to make a key difference in the operations of the entire electrical network as it continues to grow and become key to SSE and the wider UKs net-zero targets.
