Job Title: Female Live in Personal Assistant (PA)
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer’s representative
Hours: 2 weeks on 2 weeks off or 1 week on 3 weeks off - to be discussed further / 12.75 hours per day
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour Self-employed (or £11.50 per hour employed.
Based at: Carmarthenshire (on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog)

Job Purpose
Looking for a private live-in personal assistant in Carmarthenshire (on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) and also the Bridgend area of South Wales.
MUST be Female, Driver with UK Licence, over 25 and speak English like a native for conversation and assisting with telephone calls / paperwork etc.
Previous experience with spinal cord injuries essential. The client is tetraplegic thus is paralysed from her shoulders down and has a combination of auto-immune conditions which result in her spending a lot of time in bed. She has a very sharp mind, enjoys quizzes and history, geography, genealogy, her garden and her computer and loves spending time with her children and young grandchildren.
Main duties & Personal Specification
• Personal care - bed bath or bath, using hoist
• Specific bowel routine - training provided.
• Catheter care - training provided.
• Medication management (client knows and checks her medication always).
• Driving client to appointments/visiting family or places of interest in a specially-adapted large vehicle.
• Usual household duties, including cleaning, ironing, washing, bed making etc.
• Cooking, providing nutritious meals and ensuring client has drinks available at all times.
• Assisting with paperwork and other related tasks. Meals eaten with client
• Providing company, especially in the evenings
• Must be female owing to personal care requirement. Must hold a valid UK driver’s licence owing to rural location of her home and specially adapted car and must be over 25 years of age owing to car insurance policy. Being a car owner would be desirable as railway station is 3 miles away. Must love animals - miniature dachshund, chocolate Labrador, and a cat!
• Must love job and be kind and caring, have a good sense of humour, be self-motivating and neat, clean and tidy.
• Prefer non-smokers as no smoking area provided indoors.
Shift Perks & Additional Information:
• Additional one hour paid for extra cleaning per day.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave for PAYE, sick leave etc.
• Double pay on all bank holidays.
• Most food is provided whilst on shift, in line with the client’s own diet (meat, vegetables, fruit etc. from fresh-
