Our client, an established business situated in Lichfield, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant (Hybrid) for a permanent role. They stand as one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of professional vehicle and food processing cleaning products catering to trade customers.
THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, you will assume the responsibility of preparing the monthly Management Accounts. These accounts encompass various reports, all of which must be accurately generated within the specified timeframe. These reports include the profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flow, key statistics, variance analysis, overhead analysis, and commentaries. Monitoring costs and budgets, and promptly informing relevant managers and the Financial Controller about unexpected expenditures, will be crucial. Furthermore, you will interpret and convey financial data to non-financial managers, providing pertinent financial information and advice. Your tasks will extend to preparing information for statutory accounts, encompassing cash flow reconciliation, and creating schedules for corporation tax. Collaborating with external auditors and progressing towards specialisation in statutory requirements for Service France will be part of your responsibilities. Additional duties include completing and reviewing balance sheet control accounts monthly, and consistently assessing and enhancing financial systems and controls within the company. For instance, ensuring adherence to procedures for authorizing spending and purchases on behalf of the company (such as purchase orders and petty cash requests). You will also oversee recruitment, training, and management in accordance with company guidelines, ensuring stakeholders are informed in case of missed deadlines or substandard work. Ad hoc duties involve preparing information and having a comprehensive understanding of statutory accounts, VAT returns in all markets, and Intrastat on purchases.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideally, you will possess 3 years' experience in a similar role, hold a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA equivalent), and have attained Maths and English GCSE grades A* to C. Local residency in Lichfield with personal transportation is preferred, along with excellent communication skills, organisational prowess, and the ability to work to deadlines. Proficiency in French would be advantageous, and strong MS Excel skills are essential.

Hybrid working options are available, with working hours from 8.45am to 5.00pm and a 1-hour lunch, concluding at 4.45pm on Fridays. The salary ranges from £40,000 to £55,000. Additional perks include a companywide training programme for developing key skills, 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and non-contributory private health care, encompassing other medical benefits and travel insurance.
