Rigging & Marine Services Pte Ltd (“RMS”) was established in 1992, serving both the marine and O&G sectors. Presently, RMS has acquired a formidable amount of experience and skillset as well as an excellent reputation in the field of load testing and marine services. With a commitment to safety and excellence, we are seeking a vocal and dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for everyone.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates are expected to:
- Conduct regular internal safety audits and inspections to identify potential workplace hazards, prepare safety-related reports, and ensure compliance to prevailing workplace safety and health requirements and legal legislations
- Follow up with Project Safety Team / Contractors and provide recommendations to close off outstanding items outlined in safety-related and audit reports
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Ensure risk assessment is performed, workers don appropriate personal protective equipment, and safe working procedures are correctly carried out by workers on-site
- Implement and monitor appropriate safety measures in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Safety Management System
- Highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or HSE guidance
- Work with the senior management team to implement and manage safety programmes in the company
- Provide safety induction or training for new employees
- Conduct fire safety training for staff, tabletop exercise, fire drill exercise as per SCDF requirement
- Perform any other ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
A successful candidate will possess: -
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent that falls under the MOM acceptable WSH-related qualifications*
- Certification as a Registered MOM WSH Officer
- Proven 2 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in the rigging or marine industry
- Good knowledge of WSH Act, and rigging industry safety standards and regulations is a plus
- Resilience, self-motivation with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a face-paced environment to meet deadlines
- Able to build and maintain good rapport with all internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise well
- High degree of flexibility and initiative to take on new challenges as the role develops
* Acceptable WSH-related qualifications:
Specialist Diploma in WSH, awarded by SSG and conducted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, BCA Academy (awarded before 1 November 2022), NTUC Learning Hub and Singapore Institution of Safety Officers (SISO)
