As a General Engineer, you will:

• Lead compliance test programs, conduct investigations, and serve as Enforcement’s representative on teams that conduct research and/or rulemaking to amend existing standards and promulgate new FMVSS and regulations.
• Provide technical and administrative support to facilitate the contracting and execution of complex engineering programs at contract test laboratories, including writing and maintaining detailed test procedures, as well as assuring milestones and deliverables are timely. 
• Ensure test programs are conducted in a manner which supports compliance investigations and produce test results and reports that are accurate and in the proper format.
• Recommend investigation plans that are tailored to test failures or other indications of noncompliance, and conduct investigations utilizing relevant engineering analyses as well as computer tools, film analysis, statistical methods, and other analytical tools deemed useful for the particular investigation.
• Make presentations to upper management that include all of the assembled data and recommendations about how to proceed.

As an IT Specialist, you will:

• Develop and implement cutting-edge data analysis and machine learning techniques to extract insights from complex datasets.
• Utilize programming languages (Python, R, etc.) and statistical tools to clean, transform, and analyze diverse data sources.
• Provides guidance on the development and implementation of the corporate information architecture and transformation roadmap that leverages NHTSA’s target state Data Ecosystem including enterprise data management and data governance.

As a Program Analyst, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day quality inspection of test data from the NCAP testing laboratories including the coordination with the NCAP team members and contractor personnel during the review process.
• Manage the program analysis for the collection of data submitted by vehicle manufacturers for the crash avoidance testing program or crash worthiness testing program.
• Master in communicating verbally and in writing when responding to inquiries from various program offices at NHTSA and external stakeholders including consumers.
• Take charge in the quality inspection process to improve the excellence of analytical documentation for the crashworthiness or crash avoidance NCAP program.
• Serve as the program’s contract coordinator to manage the vehicle procurement contract and coordinate as well as process other NCAP related contract procurements.

The Human Resources Specialist:

• Provide administrative and technical support in one or more of the core HR functional areas: Recruitment and Placement, Classification, Staffing, Processing, HR Policy.
• Serves as the Pathways Student Program Coordinator and provides technical guidance to managers regarding the Program, which includes Presidential Management Fellows (PMF), Recent Graduates, and Interns, and other student intern programs.
• Advise and assist management with respect to placement and employment matters for purpose of achieving maximum utilization of manpower and skills for appointment and position changes.
• Provide a full range of human resources service to NHTSA management and employees on a recurring basis and manage and operate all support actions that contribute to that purpose.

As a Senior Investigative Analyst, you will:

• Independently research, analyze, collect, and produce investigative data, studies, trends, and patterns in furtherance of criminal and civil odometer fraud investigations nationwide.
• Develop, review, interpret, and update investigative files on a continuous basis to determine violations of laws and regulations. Conduct numerous preliminary investigations of alleged odometer fraud in response to complaints received from state and local, industry, federal partners, and consumers.
• Maintain various investigative databases for the purpose of conducting complex technical research in response to specific data requests, performs data entry, trend analyses, and prepares extensive cohesive reports concerning finding
• Assist in the furtherance of odometer fraud investigations by obtaining and assembling information to determine the existence, or nonexistence, of odometer fraud.

The ideal candidate is a team-player with strong analytical skills, experience utilizing multiple investigative resources, and experience producing written reports to include charts, graphs, and spreadsheets. The ideal candidate is capable of briefing stakeholders of all levels, working with financial documents, and familiar with program audit principles and procedures.
