What you'll do
You’re joining a team that’s passionate about building on the foundations of our ‘one-bank’ approach to deliver simple, safe and secure solutions for NatWest Markets, enabling our people, clients and businesses to thrive.
As the Head of Markets Production Support, you’ll be making sure that platform integrity is maintained in line with the platform and technical roadmap releases, while managing demand from discretionary and mandatory change requests. You’ll be managing the technology response to production incidents including stakeholder engagement across trading and sales desk heads, driving improved resolution through early detection and monitoring. You’ll continuously improve the production environment and support team, driving the reduction of toil, increased automation and capacity planning. Alongside this you’ll deliver a robust application management and support service.
You’ll also be:
- Managing in-bound work requests and ensuring both efficient and effective prioritisation and scheduling of work against agreed business schedules
- Building a satisfied customer base by managing relationships with all business and technology stakeholders through prompt and effective communication and reporting
- Collaborating with and influencing colleagues, stakeholders and third party suppliers on the applications under management, ensuring the timely delivery of solutions which support the business
- Leading initiatives in one or more areas of specialist knowledge, across technology as part of a technology or bank-wide programme
- Ensuring safe production change, defining processes of deployment in close conjunction with development leads
- Driving post incident reviews, while promoting a culture of learning and sharing best practice
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for a leader with knowledge of production management methodologies and tools along with significant stakeholder management skills. You’ll also have previous experience in planning and resource management.
You’ll also demonstrate
- Technical knowledge, including platform, technology, products and domains
- Knowledge of relevant industry standard toolsets and processes, to drive up customer service within an IT environment
- An understanding of operational principles
- A broad and deep understanding of the F2B processes relevant to a global markets business, with a specific focus on Fixed Income and FX products
- Successful track record, leading a global team of significant size
- A passion for metrics and measurement to show improvement of processes through observable data
- Proven ability to identify and implement training needs
- Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills
