Key Responsibilities:

• Own development and updates of BKM’s and specifications of critical parts coating and cleaning
• Manage and qualify suppliers in partnership with Global Supply Chain Organization (GSCO)
• Responsible for delivering competitive on-wafer performance and cost-of-ownership
• Identify, assess, and develop mitigations to potential design risks
• Mentor Team members
• Work with vendors to evaluate components
• Demonstrated Leadership skills

• Developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders, understanding their needs and consulting with them to build quality procurement strategies aligned to business requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years related experience. Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering /PhD preferred
• Knowledge in the design of the following components: ESC & Electrostatic Clamping, Chamber Design, and RF/Plasma
• Experience and proficiency with CAD tools such as Solidworks and other tools
• Self-starter with the ability to determine technical solutions across the entire product portfolio
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex technical environment.

Planning, Scheduling, and Coordinating Production

• Responsible for the production planning / co-ordination, scheduling, and dispatching
• Monitor & support material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
• Plans for production which includes releasing of work orders and ensuring on time delivery of shipments.
• Evaluate and analyze MRP output to ensure the correct material is driven, ordered, issued, and available for the Contract Manufacturing (CM) to support build and ship dates.
• Work closely with purchasing and warehouse/logistics groups to ensure on time receipt, delivery of materials and finish goods shipments.
• Drives and minimize excess and obsolescence inventory.
• Co-ordinate and resolve outstanding materials issues with cross functional department to eliminate surprises material shortages (E.g. RMA)
• Manage material transitions and work with CMs to use up all excess inventory.
• Monitor and track ECO’s for implementation, effectivity dates, rework, and inventory purge.
• Create SSDM SO for backorder shipment, track & fulfil SSDM requirements.
• Ensure consigned parts materials availability to support CM production and coordination of materials movement through Schenker to CM.
• Monitor and review TMS shortage report to identify critical material shortage needs and work with procurement for improvement.
• Review and approve interplant inventory allocation (STPO)
• Work with procurement team to ensure POs are updated or new POs are placed.
• Work with Fremont logistic team to ensure parts are ship on timely manner to DB Schenker
• Update work orders to add/remove parts per ECO.
• Work with manufacture engineering to correct BOM errors and follow through until the ECO implemented.
• Support monthly/quarterly work order-tool material variance review with finance.
• Develop and maintain key performance metric.
• Run weekly reports to determine (potential) material shortages that need to be expedited. Schedule a weekly meeting to follow up with buyer to ensure materials are available to support production use per load plan.
• Update consignment parts status report to CM – provide material dock date, shipping tracking number from MTI to BD Schenker & stock available in DB Schenker

Monitoring BOM Changes

• Ensure all customer’s ECNs are implemented in a timely manner.
• Work with config engineer to correct BOM errors and follow through until the ECO implemented.
• Update work orders to add/remove parts per ECO.

Requirements:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as production or factory planner, experience in the semiconductor equipment industry is a plus.
• Must have strong analytical skills and be detail oriented.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Team player, self-driven and able to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.
• Strong ERP/MRP system knowledge, SAP experience preferred.

Primary Tasks

• Generate mechanical design concepts and feasibility studies for making proposals for CIP/R&D project requests.
• Solve engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, measurement control, stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis, or system integration.
• Basic understanding of Plasma, RF, Matching circuits, Vacuum technology, product development process & cross functional communication.
• Conduct and participate in formal/informal design reviews to contribute and generate discussion/alternate ideas on various aspects of the design.
• Specify, supervise, and perform engineering analysis of complex scope, in the following areas: Wafer transfer methods including robotics, friction, particle control, vacuum and end effectors, Mechanism design in assemblies such as slit valves, lift pins, indexers, Wafer temperature management (in both process and transfer environments) including cooling stations, pedestals, ESC.
• May be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle.
• Responsible for solid models in 3D (parts and assemblies), 2D drawings, bills of material, submitting ECO’s, test specifications, functional specification, and product specifications.
• Manage communications and expectations with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure accomplishing project objectives.
• Work hands-on when needed in the engineering lab and manufacturing to support the installation and test of CES/CIP designs that get delivered on customer systems.

Requirements:

• Mechanism design capability compatible with semiconductor equipment
• Requires strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, product technology, global business perspective, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills and quality.
• Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function, including SolidWorks, SAP, AutoCAD.
• Ability to work under pressure to design cost effective solutions with serviceability and manufacturability.
• Requires ability to influence other people; ability to act as a mentor, lead and/or supervise projects.
• Must be able to work in a theoretical domain or hands on practical situation.
• General knowledge of electrical and software engineering disciplines
• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar fields, 4 or more years directly related experience, or equivalent.
