We deliver anaesthetic services to a wide range of district general hospital specialities, allowing the successful candidates a varied and fulfilling consultant career.

The Anaesthetic Department at Kingston Hospital consists of nearly 40 consultants and over 30 specialty doctors, trust grades and trainees. We are a motivated and supoortive group and were one of the first departments to achieve RCOA accreditation (ACSA), demonstrating our dedication to providing an outstanding quality of care and our enthusiasm to engage with national projects.

This is an opportunity to join an expanding and innovative Perioperative Medicine team. A new preoperative pre-habilitation programme is being developed in addition to a new post-operative enhanced recovery team. The perioperative team also works within the SWL Perioperative Care Network and has led on several new national and regional projects. There will be lots of opportunities to help shape and develop these new services at Kingston Hospital and work on a regional level.We are hoping to gain a fellow in peri-operative medicine in the near future.

Our Pre-Assessment unit is nurse-led with support from consultant and specialty grade anaesthetists. We currently run 4 to 5 consultant/specialty clinics per week for the more complex patients. There is a weekly MDT, with plans to expand to more formal input from medical specialties.

A wide range of surgical specialties provide ample opportunity for maintaining and developing skills in many aspects ofanaesthesia.

To assist with the effective delivery of both planned & reactive maintenance to a high standard on all plant, engineering systems, building structures and services within the Hospital and associated buildings.

You will need to provide an excellent level of customer care , communication and flexibility when completing work which supports the Trusts Clinical services and patient care.

To work as a flexible member of the Trust’s Maintenance Team, largely in an unsupervised capacity. To undertake semi-skilled electrical maintenance repairs e.g. replacing lamps, changing ballasts, limited lighting repairs, basic fault finding on nurse call systems, nurse call handset repairs, replacing pull cords, assist with lift entrapment and release

To undertake semi-skilled electrical planned preventative maintenance e.g. fire alarm testing, testing emergency generators

To undertake semi-skilled plumbing maintenance repairs e.g. unblocking of drains, sluices and macerators, rewashering of taps, assist with isolation and capping off of radiators, assist with the installation of replacement radiators, assist with changing thermostatic radiator valves, replacement of toilet seats.

As a member of the Occupational Health team you will be required to provide an occupational health surveillance, screening and immunisation service under the direction of the Occupational Health Advisor / Lead Nurse, having freedom to act within policies and practices of the service. • Long Term Complex Care Team -specialist assessment and intervention planning for provision of adaptive and rehabilitative therapeutic approaches to maximise functional independence in ADLs within homes of patients with complex disability needs including prescription of specialist disability equipment and minor and major adaptations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to provide leadership to our dynamic Frailty team. The primary role is to provide leadership and supervision to the Frailty therapy team, ensuring the department is providing an efficient and effective service as well as some day to day operational management. The post carries a clinical caseload.

The post holder will have good acute and community experience in a variety of acute medical presentations and pathologies, and patients presenting with frailty syndrome. They will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to assess and discharge patients in a timely and appropriate manner with involvement and referrals to our community services. This role also includes future opportunities to work in community settings across the Frailty pathway.

We are looking for a Play specialist in a Paediatric Ward setting and designated paediatric ED to work as part of a team of Hospital Play specialists to provide high quality, holistic play service for children and their families. To ensure all children have appropriate access to play whilst in hospital, plan play programmes enabling children and young people to understand, accept and co-ordinate with treatment.

The Paediatric Unit comprises of 24 beds and 2 high dependency beds, an expanding ambulatory care, a new physical assessment unit, a designated children’s outpatients and a paediatric outreach nursing team.

There is a dedicated Paediatric Emergency Department, which works closely with the inpatient ward.

Both Areas are busy, friendly units that provide high quality care for children with a wide range of medical, surgical and complex conditions.

You will be supported in your role through a comprehensive induction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician, or a newly qualified Pharmacy Technician, wanting to develop in their role in medicines management.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team of ward based clinical Pharmacy Technicians. You will be working alongside the pharmacy team and the wider MDT in a wide range of specialties, including: Surgery, Medicine, Elderly Care, Emergency Department and Acute Medicine.

In addition to excellent communication and team-working skills, you must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have completed an Accredited Medicines Management qualification. You must also hold an accredited Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification to be suitable for this post.

• Provide a pharmaceutical service for inpatients at Kingston Hospital in line with Trust and National standards.
• Complete medicines reconciliation within a timely manner to meet NICE guidance and highlight discrepancies to ward-pharmacist. Provide advice to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on medication issues in order to achieve the best outcomes for the patients, as well as providing pharmaceutical training, supervision and support for colleagues.
• Assess patients own drugs (POD) for re-use.
• Adapt as required when working in different ward specialities.
• Maintain APCT qualification by supporting the dispensary on a regular and ad hoc basis.
