Corporate Health & Safety Officer
Location: North Folkestone & Central Hythe
Contract: Temp - 6 months
Hours: 37 per week
Pay per hour: £21.60 - £24.70 ~ depending on qualifications, skills & experience
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join the team at the local Council. You will act as Lead Officer for the enforcement of Health & Safety legislation & to act as Corporate Health & Safety officer ensuring that Folkestone & Hythe complies with current health, safety & fire legislation. You will also provide technical support & develop, manage & promote all aspects of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will need a full UK driving licence. A standard DBS check will be necessary.
This is temporary position for approx. 6 months.
Main Duties to include:
To lead on the Council's duty to comply and enforce health & safety legislation.
To develop, implement and review health and safety policies and procedures as required by the HSE and submit as appropriate to the Corporate Leadership Team & Cabinet.
To comply with quality assurance processes and procedures
To prepare the annual Health & Safety service plan
To audit projects & building works to ensure they comply with CMD2015
To carry out health & safety inspections in accordance with the national code & take any necessary enforcement action.
To submit statistics to the Health & Safety Executive.

Qualifications:
A relevant Environmental Health related qualification and EHORB
5 GCSE's at grade C or above including math & english
Management qualification & lead auditor
Experience & Knowledge:
Demonstrate knowledge, experience and expertise in relation to Health & Safety legislation and best practice in a similar role
Experience in MS Office
Excellent interpersonal skills
High attention to detail
