Corporate Health & Safety Officer

Location: North Folkestone & Central Hythe

Contract: Temp - 6 months

Hours: 37 per week

Pay per hour: £21.60 - £24.70 ~ depending on qualifications, skills & experience

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join the team at the local Council. You will act as Lead Officer for the enforcement of Health & Safety legislation & to act as Corporate Health & Safety officer ensuring that Folkestone & Hythe complies with current health, safety & fire legislation. You will also provide technical support & develop, manage & promote all aspects of Health & Safety policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will need a full UK driving licence. A standard DBS check will be necessary.

This is temporary position for approx. 6 months.

Main Duties to include:

To lead on the Council's duty to comply and enforce health & safety legislation.

To develop, implement and review health and safety policies and procedures as required by the HSE and submit as appropriate to the Corporate Leadership Team & Cabinet.

To comply with quality assurance processes and procedures

To prepare the annual Health & Safety service plan

To audit projects & building works to ensure they comply with CMD2015

To carry out health & safety inspections in accordance with the national code & take any necessary enforcement action.

To submit statistics to the Health & Safety Executive.

Qualifications:

A relevant Environmental Health related qualification and EHORB

5 GCSE's at grade C or above including math & english

Management qualification & lead auditor

Experience & Knowledge:

Demonstrate knowledge, experience and expertise in relation to Health & Safety legislation and best practice in a similar role

Experience in MS Office

Excellent interpersonal skills

High attention to detail

Support worker - Mental Health

Own Transport is essential - this is a mobile role

Hours 37.5 per week - would consider Part time application minimum of 3 days per week

Salary £23,780 PA

Our client is a well known charity providing mental health support to vunerable adults.

You will be travelling to locations as required.

Essential Experience required:

Supporting vulnerable people in the community, including accessing community resources.

Desirable:

Experience of working with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies

Experience of working with a person-centred approach to assist people to feel empowered and able to develop and implement their own solutions.

Essential Knowledge and Understanding:

A comprehensive knowledge of the challenges and support needs of vulnerable people in the community.

Knowledge of safeguarding practice for both adults and children

Understanding of supporting vulnerable people with mental health needs in the community

The role:

Supporting people to better manage their mental health and well being, working with them based on their priorities and needs to achieve the goals that are important to them.

Offering one to one support to people in the community using a strength-based, person-centred approach, as well as evidence-based mental health interventions (supported with training)

Work collaboratively with Journey Coordinator and LWKM delivery partners to ensure good service transitions and that follow ups actions are completed.

Co-produce a simple, personalised support plan which is goal focused and realistic

Effectively manage a caseload, with good awareness and understanding of when to refer to other professionals/agencies when the person's needs are beyond the scope of the service.

Identify, assess, and effectively manage risk and safeguarding issues, escalating as appropriate.
7.
Work independently in the community, proactively building up a network of professional
relationships, including primary care networks.
8.
Maintain timely, accurate and up to date records relating to people and assist in the compilation of quarterly progress
