Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compounding Pharmacist to join our team with a focus on automation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in pharmaceutical compounding, coupled with a keen interest in leveraging automation technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety in the compounding process. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize automated systems within our pharmacy automation, strategy and support the implementation of such globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compounding and Quality Control:
- Oversee the preparation and compounding of personalized medications, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Conduct quality control checks on compounded medications to guarantee their safety, potency, and accuracy.
- Automation Implementation:
- Collaborate with technology vendors and internal teams to implement and optimize automated compounding systems.
- Train pharmacy staff on the use of automated equipment and software, ensuring seamless integration into daily operations.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve compounding processes through automation, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for automated compounding workflows.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all compounding activities comply with relevant regulations, including USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for compounded medications and automation systems.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries related to compounded medications and automation processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop customized medication solutions.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active pharmacist license is preferable
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical compounding.
- Experience with automated compounding systems and technology is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices for pharmaceutical compounding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in compounding pharmacy (e.g., Board Certification in Sterile Compounding).
- Familiarity with software and hardware used in pharmacy automation.
