The Director, Human Resources will be a strategic business partner that helps drive a high-performance culture through the creation and implementation of people strategies including: talent management and succession planning, leadership and organizational development, change management, employee relations and engagement and recognition.
The position will report to the VP, Human Resources and will be the primary business partner to the President, IHOP and the IHOP business unit along with other designated groups.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Translate business strategy into people strategies that leverages the organizations current strengths and values while driving culture change for high performance and accountability
- Provide support and partner with the President IHOP in building a high-performance organization that exceeds goals within the framework of Dine Brands vision and values
- Build relationships with franchisees to promote and drive change, enabling system level growth. Build processes and services designed to assist the IHOP franchise community while navigating co-employment risk
- Lead an actionable talent review and succession process that connects performance and cultural values to development and total rewards
- Coach leaders and model behavior that demonstrates a culture that is transparent and values healthy differences of opinion, perspectives and capabilities
- Support, coach and advise team members on their performance and development and the performance and development of their teams.
- Collaboratively drive enterprise improvements in programs and processes that empower team members to perform their best work with a focus on efficiency and consistency
- Participate in cross-functional project teams across the enterprise and within the IHOP brand
- Manage Team Member relations ensuring equitable treatment within the context of the company’s values while mitigating legal risk
- Target Base Salary $165k+
Candidate Profile:
- 10+ years of innovative human resources leadership experience with a large organization or a senior team in a mid-sized company
- A professional career track that includes broad functional exposure in areas of talent management and succession planning, leadership and organizational development, change management, employee relations and engagement and recognition
- Outstanding leadership skills with a proven record of successfully leading teams through periods of change and growth.
- Proven expertise in building consensus and positively influencing the outcome of projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong business acumen with the ability to contribute to business planning and execution
- A reputation as a leader who establishes mutual trust with associates, franchisees, and peers emphasizing integrity, honesty, and high professional standards
- Actions contribute to a collaborative, productive work environment; Interacts with team members at all levels of the organization, fosters an enterprise culture that discourages siloed mindsets
- Places a high priority on talent, both acquiring and developing talent that drives the business; Deep understanding that talent is a key driver in a successful business strategy.
- Prior experience in the restaurant, retail or hospitality industries preferred, Franchise experience a plus.
- BS degree in a business or HR management; Master’s degree in Organizational Development or related field preferred
