As a Supervisory Facility Management Specialist GS-1640-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
- Plans and manages the operation and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and other facilities at a postsecondary educational institute while minimizing disruption of college operations.
- Position reports to Vice President of University Operations and provides first-line supervision to six personnel. Exercises second-level supervisory personnel management responsibilities over 30-40 employees.
- Provides administrative assistance through analyzing and evaluating the operations of the programs under the Vice President in the following departments supporting the university mission: Haskell Cultural Center, Little Nations Day Care, Curtis Dining Facility, Facilities Management, Maintenance, and Custodial Services.
- Planning, implementing, supervising, and coordinating the execution of integrated sound, effective, and efficient facilities management programs encompassing operation, maintenance, repairs, improvements, quality control, and safety, including health and environmental safety, custodial services for various types of facilities, including classroom buildings, academic science laboratories, residence halls, administration or office buildings, and pumping stations.
- Ongoing monitoring of both Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Budget and Project Execution, Ranking, and Management (BPERM) systems to ensure accurate project tracking.
