About the role:
You will have the opportunity to create seasonal changing menus and new dishes, with the freedom to express your own creative identity and will benefit from brand new equipment in a newly fitted kitchen, whilst mentoring and training young people and adults.

The candidate we are looking for is a dedicated professional with meticulous attention to detail, who thrives in a busy kitchen setting. They will have a passion for cooking and training others to achieve their high standards.

The successful candidate will possess a Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery, Level 2 Food Safety certificate and Teaching/Assessor qualifications (Assessor qualification to be achieved within 6 months). It is desirable that the candidate will also possess a Level 4 Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts, Level 3 Food Safety certificate, IT qualification, Level 2 Equality & Diversity and First Aid qualification.

Applicants will have a minimum 2 years' experience of working in a kitchen environment, experience of managing a kitchen team and exceptional culinary skills to create high quality dishes for the McIntyre restaurant's menu, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee the day-to-day running of the restaurant and retail area, promoting a professional and welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

The candidate we are looking for is a dedicated professional with meticulous attention to detail, who can create a positive welcoming environment for customers. They will have successfully managed front of house and have a passion for training others to achieve their high standards.

The successful candidate will possess a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, Level 2 Food Safety certificate (to be achieved within 6 weeks) and First Aid qualification (or willing to work towards within 6 weeks). It is desirable that the candidate will also possess an IT qualification and Level 2 Equality & Diversity.

Trainer Assessor
37 hours per week permanent position to commence August 2024
Grade: harmonised pay scale 23-25 (£26,736.10 - £27,685.06 per annum)

Bishop Auckland College is seeking to recruit a Trainer Assessor who will be responsible for the effective and efficient assessing within the relevant area.

You will be required to assess learners across a broad range of Early Years and Primary school settings; learners will be on study programmes (16-18 year olds) and adults on programmes of study in early years and teaching assistants. From level 1 to level 3 courses ( including T.Levels) that we offer at the College as well as assessments required for learners on apprenticeship courses. You will work closely with the Early Years team and liaise with tutors about progress as well as the employers. You will be required to drive to the settings for the assessments and you will need a clean DBS check.
