BCA are looking for a Management Accountant for Group Services, which owns the financial accounting for areas such as Group IT and Group Marketing. As a Management Accountant for BCA you will provide management accounts, reports and analysis of Group Services functions, in a timely, accurate and insightful manner. You will provide support to both the Group Services Finance Manager and Finance Director.
You will ensure that accurate financial reports are prepared on a timely basis with a discipline of continuous improvement depending on management requirements.
You will provide management with accurate and relevant analysis of financial data, and take ownership of the Group Services functions ‘purchase order to pay’ process.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure monthly accounting areas of responsibility are completed to enable timely and accurate reporting to Group, highlighting areas of concern for the business. Provide management reporting commentary as and when required.
Challenge variances against budget and prior periods to ensure clear understanding of the results.
Ensure all reporting is compliant with relevant accounting standards.
Partner with Group Services Management to ensure they fully understand the impact of their results.
Support driving excellent performance within the Group services finance team, sharing knowledge and upskilling team members.
Identifying areas for potential improvements and working with the Finance Manager to ensure ‘best in class’ financial processes are achieved.
Prepare regular financial forecasts.
Provide support in annual budget submission process.
Ad Hoc analysis and support as required.
Support the year end audit as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Demonstrable experience of working in a management or financial accounting position, preferably within a large organisation or an IT environment.
Strong attention to detail and the confidence to challenge colleagues in order to obtain answers and where necessary, challenge the status quo.
Be inquisitive to understand the business and the impact the management accounts processes have on the business.
Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA and ACA) is essential
Strong PC and IT system skills essential.
High level of Excel experience preferable.
Prior use of MS Navision would be useful.
