This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Chief Counsel.


As the Deputy Chief Counsel, you will:

• Render legal advice and counsel to the Administrator of TTB and the Administrator's executive staff.
• Assist the Chief Counsel in determining whether civil action should be brought in the courts under the laws administered by TTB, and assist the Chief Counsel in the preparation of recommendations and/or authorizations for the Department of Justice for the commencement of such actions.
• Furnish legal opinions and memoranda and assist the Administrator in the preparation and review of other TTB publications and correspondence relating to the laws enforced and administered by TTB.

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Assistant Administrator - Permitting and Taxation.

As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, you will:

• Plan, evaluate, direct, track, analyze, and coordinate complex projects that cross divisions within Permitting and Taxation (PT) and integrate with other TTB directorates.
• Study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop specifications for new systems or prototype systems to improve production or workflow as required.
• Supervise subordinate staff, many of which are equal in technical expertise, setting objectives and priorities for the varied projects undertaken by the Section.

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB),Assistant Administrator - Field Operations - Tax Audit Division.

• Plan and conduct assigned excise tax audits of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and ammunition industry members.
• Interview accountants, representatives of financial institutions, industry representatives, and others including federal and state officials to obtain information relative to excise tax liability.
• Participate in teams involved in excise tax audits and related matters with other auditors, special agents and/or inspectors.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports and disseminates findings and disclosures developed during excise tax audits and related matters.

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB),Assistant Administrator - Field Operations - Tax Audit Division.

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the general ledger, the associated subsidiary ledgers, and internal and external financial reporting.
• Oversee the daily entry of custodial receipts as reported to Treasurys Collections Information Repository into the general ledger and reconciling to the various Treasury financial report systems for Fedwire's, ACHs, Pay.gov, ECP and OTCnet.
• Advise managers on program operations as revealed by accounting data trends and reports.
• Research and resolve problems arising from day-to-day accounting system operations.
• Continually examine and analyze accounting system operations for adequacy of current data in providing financial information, for ways to use the system to satisfy new information requirements and to identify areas of accounting operation where modifications could be made to improve operating procedures or provide more effective reporting.
