SUMMARY
The Project Coordinator will provide project support to the USDA’s Rural Development Agency. Helps develop, coordinate, track, update, and report on multiple task orders within a large and complex contract. Administrative duties, such as developing and maintaining a document repository, supporting onboarding of new employees, or coordinating multiple meetings and trainings, will require a customer focused-candidate with solid organizational and time-management skills. Should have experience using project management tools and will report to the Project Manager, but will regularly interface and work with the client, stakeholders, and other staff. Washington, DC area-based candidates will be preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
Coordinates schedules, meetings, focus groups, trainings, and more.
Liaise with stakeholders to document project requirements, scope, and objectives.
Acts as the point of contact for and communicates project status updates and reports.
Identify processes to improve efficiency and communications.
Assists and supports clients and stakeholders on projects and daily business needs.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
Establishes and maintains a secure filing system, ensuring documentation/information is current and can be readily accessed by stakeholders.
Interfaces with internal project teams, management, customers, and other customer stakeholders.
Organizes and coordinates staff and other meetings, including preparing materials pertaining to agenda items, following up with staff members regarding status of action items, etc.
Maintains timely communications and develops collaborative rapports with solutions-oriented approaches.
Works with others on project scope, deliverables, quality, and resources. Coordinates on special projects as assigned.
Receives and synthesizes ideas and information from multiple stakeholder groups.
Communicates project plans, objectives, timelines, schedules, job assignments, responsibilities, and reporting relationships to appropriate stakeholders.
Supports communications efforts with proofreading, editing, formatting, disseminating, and tracking various materials as needed.
May support training, workshop, or interview efforts.
Supports mandated reporting by scheduling, outreach, data collection, and proofreading.
Identifies potential risks and assists PM to develop contingency plans and assists in managing project scope.
Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience supporting projects and programs or equivalent combination of education/experience.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired, but not required.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
