Program Summary

As part of the LOGCAP NORTHCOM scope, KBR provides rapid response support to scheduled and unscheduled U.S. Army training exercises. KBR’s LOGCAP team successfully completed another year of support to Warfighter operations by providing typical LOGCAP services at two locations.

Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild and maintain power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.  This includes duties such as…

• Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmission, and test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency.
• Weld broken parts and structural members may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.
• Monitors work of less experienced mechanics
• Provides technical assistance in diagnosing problems beyond the capacity of assigned personnel
• Maintain a safe work record.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

• US Citizen
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position
• Valid state driver’s license
• Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds

Title:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs the most technical and complex duties involved in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven material handling and construction equipment such as 50 Ton hydraulic cranes, container handlers, 10k forklifts, tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment. Trouble shoot and repair to MVAC system.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds.  Performs operator, intermediate and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance which includes spot painting. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics.  Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent.  Six years of directly related work experience.  Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent.  Complete MVAC course and hold a valid certificate. Measure Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) certified laboratory standards. Troubleshoots/repairs complex TMDE and integrated electronic systems utilizing theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees and software diagnostics.

Accurately records/reports maintenance actions using applicable maintenance data collection. Resolves group and customer issues, seeks to improve the overall productivity of the department, anticipates problems and initiates appropriate actions to eliminate them.

Ability to create calibration procedures when required.

The Operations Coordinator will:

• Perform routine assignments and develop core job competencies with existing Government/Honeywell material management procedures and solving standard problems.

The Automotive Worker (Mech II) will:

• Perform a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles.

• Place and maintain decals on vehicles

• Check and replace batteries.

• Rotate, repair, and replace tires.

• Wash, polish, and clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles.

• Drain, flush, and replace engines, transmissions, and differential grease and oils.

• Check, clean, calibrate, and replace spark plugs.

• Clean and replace oil and air filters.

• Adjust brakes.

• Replace windshield wipers, and similar minor parts.

• Assist on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts.

• Repair components such as generators and water pumps.

• Replace thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items.

• Maintain tools and equipment and cleans work areas.

• Use personal tools along with government furnished special tools to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on all automotive tactical and combat equipment assigned or work loaded to the APS-03 program.

• Perform field level maintenance on U.S. Military automotive equipment, including inspection, parts identification and requisition, servicing and repair in accordance with technical specifications and specified repair times.

• Maintain maintenance records and documentation in accordance with government regulations and local policies.

• Properly use, store, account for, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste used and generated in the performance of duties.

• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

• Handle movement of materiel and assets with forklifts and dollies.

• Upon notification from the government, deploy to support issuing or receipt of equipment.

• At times wear personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) which may include but not limited to Level III plus/IV Individual Body Armor with both front and back ballistic plates, ACH helmet, clothing (undergarments, shirts and pants and/or coveralls), reflective vests/belts, sound suppression devices, etc.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Work on this schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm (OT/weekends as required during ship cycle).

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)

• Must meet deployment qualifications and maintain deployable status.

• Must obtain and maintain local base access.

• Requires at least 4 years of directly related work experience.

• Must have a certificate of training from vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in automotive maintenance, or other related field.

• Requires a certificate of training from a basic automotive maintenance course.

  • In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.

• Must be able to interpret and apply technical instruction, schematics, and diagrams.

KBR is looking for an Accounting Manager (AM) to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting the USAID NexGen Global Health Supply Chain Program. This is a full-time position that will accommodate a hybrid remote/office work schedule, but will require occasional travel to the Washington, D.C. area and potential overseas travel. Responsible for accounting policies and procedures involving the maintenance of a precise general ledger, analysis of balance sheet accounts, and management financial reporting. Responsibilities

Title:

Responsible for supporting and maintaining all USAP temporary and permanent infrastructure and equipment. In doing so, the employee shall optimize infrastructure and equipment for energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact to the greatest extent practical. Prioritize and track maintenance activities to ensure a safe environment for Station personnel and minimize disruptions to Station operations. Develop budgets requests and plan work to support organization goals. Identify annual metrics to measure performance.

Allocation of offices and furniture, food services, janitorial, painting, structural floor coverings, interior and exterior finishes, electrical services, locksmith services, plumbing, move services and maintenance or repair activities.

For maintenance projects, the candidate shall be familiar with project performance analysis, cost and contract management, and risk analysis/mitigation for the purpose of general management, as well as detection and notification of problems.

Ensure facility operations and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner through proper job planning, identification and supply of PPE, and routine inspections.

 Provide site coordination with construction contractors executing capital projects on the ice to minimize impacts to operations.

Maintain and update a technical library including O&M technical manuals, facilities descriptive books, and a submittal register of NSF-approved materials and finishes. Provide pertinent information for timely updates to facility as-built documents.

Support Master Planning for McMurdo and major logistics platforms on a ten-year rolling basis. Including identify deferred maintenance, changing requirements and technologies to reduce life-cycle costs, and evaluate alternatives and cost estimates related to infrastructure recapitalization to guide NSF decisions.

Support planning, design including risk identification, and execution of major construction projects in the Antarctic Infrastructure Recapitalization (AIR) program, as well as additional MREFC-scale projects as assigned. In executing construction projects, the candidate shall support the team in minimizing negative impacts on science support to the extent possible.

Support pre-deployment verification and validation to ensure that infrastructure components, hardware/software, and equipment are appropriately verified as functionally ready to perform under the austere and potentially harsh conditions of the Antarctic.
