Satair - an Airbus Services Company (100% subsidiary of Airbus) - is looking for a Logistics Project Manager in our Logistics & Repair Organization located in Dulles, VA at the earliest possible start date.
Reporting to the Head of Footprint & Technology you will be working with colleagues located in Europe, US and Asia. You will join a diverse team of highly experienced and knowledgeable people providing special process and logistics competencies. You will drive the space development, introducing new storage & transportation systems and strive for standards of MHE and material flows for all sites.

In support of Warehouse Operations, our team members support everything from receiving to packing and shipping of materials. The warehouse is at the core of our operations, assuring that Team Airbus members and our customers get the materials they need to be successful.
Your working environment:
Located just five miles from Washington Dulles International Airport, and 30 miles from the U.S. Capitol, this site serves as our major parts distribution hub in the Americas. The facility is a 24/7 fulfillment center, with an Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support desk, and Quality Assurance (QA) operations. To best support our customers, our 250,000-square-foot warehouse features a brand new technology called Autostore, aiming at increasing productivity.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
To set up modern, high-performance and cost-effective logistics and warehouse systems
Execute projects to drive continuous improvement and standardization of all 10 global warehouses, transportation and repair activities.
Driving the space development, introducing best fit storage and transportation systems, defining standards of material handling equipment and material flows for all sites.
Global to local evaluation, forecasting and alignment of warehouse capacity needs with our commercial and supply chain stakeholders
This role will involve some travel for business worldwide and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
What do we expect from you?
Equipped with a Degree in Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management (or similar) paired with professional experience ideally as a Logistics Consultant, Warehouse Planner/ Manager (or a comparable role), we are looking for a team player with the following experience, skills and mindset:
Confirmed 5+ years of experience in the Logistics environment
Knowledge/ Experience to plan and implement warehouse set-ups, storage systems and material handling equipment
Profound Project Management Skills (PMP certification or others beneficial) from initiation, planning, monitoring & controlling to closing
Know how to create business cases and how to prepare and drive milestone/gate reviews
Can set-up multi-functional/transnational project teams and lead them in all project phases (including members from other functions – matrix organization)
As a person
You are happy to work in a diverse and global team environment with low hierarchies
You have the capacity to challenge and influence
You have excellent communication and conflict management skills and you can adjust your communication style/level to the hierarchical needs
You have English language skills at negotiation level, any additional language is a plus
You bring very good analytical skills, ideally
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
