Key Responsibilities & Experience Range
We are currently seeking a senior Technical Leader for our GA GMH team. The GMH team works on our internally developed GMH Application for our GA business partners in the Portfolio Construction, Compliance, Trading and Research business lines.
As a Leader of the team, you will be responsible for overall designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting against new and existing application demands to support business, IT, and project requirements. The role will also require you to work as an individual contributor and other times leading delivery and development team.
The successful candidate will have18+ Years of Hands-on Experience with strong business and technology acumen, build partnerships, foster close collaboration and work well within a Global team dynamic. The candidate must possess an inherent understanding of technologies, relationships between technology, data, operations, and business areas.
The candidate will be leading a team of around 10-15 technical SME’s who are responsible for developing and maintaining the application suite which is the integration backbone between SSGA and other third-party tools facilitating trade and order processing. The candidate should ensure the successful transition of the solution and service from the outsourced vendor to inhouse. The candidate should be responsible for demand management and capacity planning for the India team and accountable for delivery with efficiency and quality. The candidate should be a hands-on technical leader who will assume ownership, take accountability, drive innovation and play a key role in in shaping India global hub to be the Tech Center of SSGA. The candidate will need to staff, mentor, set goals and expectations and complete performance appraisal of the team.
- This person would be responsible for staffing, operationalize and leading the GMH team.
- Provide technology expertise & leadership teams in areas of integrations – web services, API management, file transfer, messaging, etc.
- Collaborate with other architects and stakeholders to roll out governance practices and standards for building the solutions.
- Collaborate with scrum masters and project/program manager to organize deliverables into phases and sprints; drive estimation and sizing, contribute actively to planning and scheduling the solution implementation.
- Ensure solutions & deliverables of team exhibits elevated levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Represent the team in planning and product meetings, effectively communicating the available platform features and constraints.
- Ability to participate in major incident management, production stability, etc. as and when required.
- Ability to act as a guide and mentor in the team.
Skills & Knowledge
Qualification & Certifications
- A minimum of B.E/BTech degree in Computer Science or related field
- TOGAF certification (good to have)
Primary Skills (Must Have)
- 18+ years of experience as a functional manager/technical leader/architect in building a modern integration stack and expertise in Managing Enterprise-wide releases.
- Proficient in developing Integration stack – API Management, Web Services, Messaging, etc.
- Proficient on exchanging data between source and target systems using SQL, SOAP, REST, API, File Transfer, Messaging, etc.
- Good at designing and developing solutions/services using Rest/Microservice patterns.
- Experience with understanding of Kafka, IBM Message Queue, IBM Message File Transfer (MFX)
- Experience with JBOSS Application Server and WebLogic
- Experience in one of Spring and ORM tools like Hibernate, JPA
- Experience with Ant, Maven, JUnit, JMock, DBUnit
- Oracle/Sybase data base devlopment (PLSQL expertise)
- Experience leading a global team across locations with a mix of employees and outsourcing partner for deliverables.
- Knowledge of the Asset Management or Investment Management industry and data
- In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
- Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory
- Exposure to Trading Applications Migration and App migration from on premise to Cloud is preferred.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
- Exposure/Ability to develop solutions using AWS/Azure/JCP Services
- Exposure/Ability to develop in Perl, Python and have a good command on any Unix flavor OS.
- Exposure on any OLAP/OLTP database and is comfortable in writing PL/SQL procedures, data modeling and query optimization.
