Serves as a Operations Manager (OM) in a Large TRACON, responsible for planning and directing operations. The incumbent may be requested to provide direct support to the Air Traffic Manager. In the terminal option, the OM provides first-line supervision to assigned Operation Supervisors (OS) and Traffic Management Coordinators (TMC), if applicable. The OM provides second-line supervision to Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS). The OM is responsible for operational services of the facility including traffic management initiatives. Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout his/her area(s) of responsibility. Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective ATC service, and may work other than administrative shifts to meet this requirement. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded worker(s).

Utilizes knowledge and skills of the journey level as well as those required to plan, accomplish, and maintain a functional shop maintenance program.

Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements.

Devises and maintains all program plans and records, performs surveillance and troubleshooting, and determines maintenance/repair procedures to be utilized.

Plans, organizes, and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision.

Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.

Performs the full range of journey level work of the shop.

As a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO), you will be responsible for mitigating actual and potential threats against civil aviation and other transportation modes.
