Purpose of Job:
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations will oversee and lead operations for Interstate Batteries’ Fulfillment Center network. This will include involvement in the implementation of middle distribution capabilities, ownership of the ongoing operational performance of a 3PL distribution network. As a key leader of our supply chain strategy, this job will be responsible for driving performance excellence, implementing process improvements, optimizing supplier relationships, and contributing to overall strategic planning.
Job Components:
Oversee and ensure the seamless performance of our 3PL distribution network, setting and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet operational goals
Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the department
Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals
Monitor, develop, and improve performance management metrics for IB warehousing related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and growth, which are both strategically impactful and executable at the front line of the network
Spearhead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within supply chain operations, identifying and implementing innovative solutions for continuous improvement
Engage in the evaluation of potential new business models, processes, and other key strategic initiatives. Own operationalizing strategic projects in the Fulfillment Center network
Build and maintain strong relationships with Partners, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with quality and service standards
Effectively develop, build, and maintain positive relationships with internal cross-functional teams and external partners
Play a pivotal role in the development and execution of strategic plans for the supply chain, aligning with overall business objectives and contributing to the organization's growth and cost management
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college/university; Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of Supply Chain experience with progressive responsibility, including demonstrated success with project implementations, with a minimum of 8 years leading individuals and teams
Lean/Six Sigma training and qualification preferred
Experience working in and overseeing outsourced/3PL warehouse and transportation environments
Effective at leading and influencing others to execute time-sensitive objectives and foster a collaborative team culture
Self-starter and thought leader with a high level of energy and strong work ethic
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to make data-driven decisions
In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory management, with a preference for experience working in SAP
Must be able to travel as required to oversee network performance

Oversee the budgetary responsibilities and activities of the department
Provide leadership for a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and regular performance feedback
Interact professionally with business owners/partners, customers, and cross-functional team members

Work Environment:
Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods
Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
Will be exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
