This Graduate Science Teaching Assistant role will see the successful candidate joining a supportive Science department and supporting the teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4. The school have identified several students across the age range who require extra motivation and support and are looking for a Science Graduate to support these students. You will be working directly with the Head of Science, who will be utilising your specialist degree knowledge to support with pupils across Key Stage 3, 4 & 5. This Science Teaching Assistant vacancy will see the successful graduate working on a 1:1 and small group intervention basis to improve their attainment and progress.

The school are keen to meet a Science Graduate who has a great academic record including at least a 2.1 in their degree. The successful Science Teaching Assistant will possess the personality and work-ethic that sees them establish themselves as a role model to students. For this graduate Science Tutor position, previous experience supporting students academically or in more informal settings is highly advantageous.

We are looking for curious, organised, and enthusiastic graduate calibre candidates to embark on a journey to start your career! This is a full-time permanent job opportunity with a 6-month training programme included.

You'll be working for an international firm specialising in tracing missing and unknown beneficiaries to unclaimed estates, property, and assets worldwide. The main aim of the position is to support the companies' researchers in the quest to find long lost heirs and beneficiaries through archive research. As well as supporting with other legal services, researching documents such as wills, birth certificates, estate documentation connected with probate.

As this is a trainee programme, we are not looking for particular previous experience, but the successful candidates will show the following attributes: excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, the ability to cope under pressure and work autonomously. Ideally candidates will be educated to a degree level, degrees including extensive research are a bonus! Degrees such as History, English Literature, Philosophy for example.

Working independently will be fundamental to the role as you will be working onsite at archives and museums as well as from home.

The Research Information Service (RIS) is part of the Library Services directorate within the House of Commons Library. It provides a range of information services to support the Library's eight research teams and POST. This includes the selection of information resources, provision of current awareness reports, training and support on the discovery and use of information tools and resources, reference enquiries, literature searching and bibliographic assistance for the production of briefings and publications.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as Senior Research Librarian. This vital role oversees the daily work of a team of embedded research librarians who work with researchers to ensure they have access to the information needed to support a thriving Parliamentary democracy.

The Role

This post oversees the daily operations of the Research Information Service to ensure the effective and efficient use of information tools by researchers and wider Library users. A professional qualification in library and information management is essential to this post.

Comprising around twenty people, the Research Information Service is a team of highly skilled information professionals who connect the wider Research and Information research community with the resources (physical, digital and human) they need to complete their work. The Senior Research Librarian will work closely with the Head of Service to ensure high quality service delivery in line with strategic goals and take responsibility for a range of projects.

Line management and a coaching approach are essential to this role. The postholder will be responsible for the direct line management of a group of Research Librarians in addition to deputising for the Head of Service in their absence.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• Oversight of the daily operations of the department, deputising for the Head of Service in their absence and at other times as necessary.
• Acting as Senior Records Officer for the wider team, ensuring that information is maintained, accessible and archived in accordance with local policy.
• Liaison with internal colleagues on matters where Research Information Service is involved, including participation in working groups and committees as needed.
• Taking the lead on specific projects including delivering services and contributions to events.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• You will hold a CILIP-accredited degree level Library or Information Management qualification or actively seeking to obtain such a qualification.
• You meet the key information needs of your customers by showing an aptitude for enquiry work using a range of information resources and tools, including using SharePoint and other tools to organise and retrieve digital information.
• You have the ability to lead and motivate colleagues and foster a supportive work environment.

Precision Medicine and BioSamples within AstraZeneca focuses on matching medicines to those patients who will benefit from them most and delivers companion or complementary diagnostic assays that align with the drug development process and enable personalised healthcare approaches within our clinical portfolio.

As a Manager, Tissue Diagnostics Science you will use your knowledge of tissue based diagnostic assays including immuno-histochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH) and other ground breaking technologies and approaches (multiplexing, multi-immunofluorescence, Digital pathology and artificial intelligence etc.) to provide scientific and technical expertise to deliver innovative tissue diagnostic approaches to AstraZeneca's clinical portfolio, through strategic partnerships with leading diagnostic companies.

If successful, you would be part of multidisciplinary teams implementing and delivering diagnostic tests to match the right patients to the right drugs. Specifically, you would be:

• Delivering diagnostic testing to clinical studies as agreed with project leaders including tissue (IHC, ISH assays) diagnostic test establishment in partner laboratories, establish innovative diagnostic tests (e.g. tests relying on machine learning/AI), monitor diagnostic test data for quality control, provide scientific troubleshooting when necessary and preparation of study reports with presentation at appropriate meetings.
• Accountable for the operational, scientific and regulatory aspects of establishing and controlling diagnostic tests used to identify patients who are eligible to enter drug clinical trials.
• Performing technical due diligence of potential external partners (e.g. start-up companies, diagnostic manufacturers, laboratories) in scientific area(s) of expertise.
• Leading projects across internal and external partners in a global multi-disciplinary environment, applying scientific, technical and operational expertise.
• Accountable to scout and evaluate emerging technologies in your area of expertise aligned with mid and long term strategic priorities of Precision Medicine.
• Identify opportunities, propose solutions and work across boundaries in the scientific area(s) of expertise that will enable drug development projects and diagnostics labelling.
• Generating scientific evidence from a variety of data-types (e.g. images, real-world evidence, clinical trial data) to enable companion diagnostic test selection, regulatory submissions and diagnostic test life-cycle management.
• Delivering diagnostic data work packages to enable regulatory submission and approval inclusive of studies to enable market adoption and life cycle management, including statistical data analysis.

Essential Minimum
