The Opportunity
The vision of the Transfer & Deconstruction department is to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to transition the AGR sites from a defueling to deconstruction phase so they can safely and efficiently execute their decommissioning plans and seamlessly transfer to Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS).
The core objective of the Transition and Transfer (T&T) team is to ensure that, at the point of transfer to NRS, each site has transitioned its arrangements to be capable of safely and effectively implementing their Decommissioning Plan, whilst demonstrating compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Business Change Lead will be key to establishing and developing specific transition capabilities and progressively deploying these at each site to ensure the programme can leverage standard approaches and embed lessons learnt.
The role will have a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of projects and transformation activities towards realising benefits of strategic importance. This role requires a good understanding of company processes, with experience in their deployment, as well as knowledge and experience of Power Station operations.
Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £54,391 to £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing Technical Leadership to programme work activities – working with Central Support Functions, power stations and contractors to ensure work packages are agreed and delivered in accordance with the plan.
- Developing the T&T programme approach to organisational change, engaging with process owners and business functional change leads to ensure an aligned and informed delivery plan.
- Preparing and maintaining programme documentation: definition documents, scope statements, quality plans, specification and other related documents.
- Maintaining an overview of programme performance against blueprint and related content, reporting any potential deviations in the programme delivery to relevant line management and governance bodies.
- Identifying, monitoring and assessing the impact of cumulative change associated with business design and providing advice to the programme on the associated risks.
- Developing relationships with all internal and external programme stakeholders to help ensure the programme’s objectives are achieved.
- Reviewing and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in programme design and delivery.
Who you are
You will hold a HNC qualification as a minimum and have significant experience of facilitation and change management working within the Nuclear industry or another highly regulated environment, aswell as knowledge of site licence conditions and associated processes, as applicable to a nuclear installation.
You will be experienced in working effectively in a high change environment, with the resilience and ability to effectively challenge at all levels.
You will have excellent project and stakeholder management skills, as well as strong leadership qualities – able to operate across a matrix organisation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and the ability to demonstrate collaborative working methods.
You’ll be proficient in the use of digital tools and their application, particularly for the purposes of data analysis.
You will be experienced in identifying effective methods for capturing knowledge to support Knowledge Transfer.
A working knowledge of the relevant health, safety and environment legislation would be beneficial.
