• Participates in achieving the efficient execution of the program by collecting, tracking compiling, inputting in a timely fashion and analyzing various data.

• Initiates ordering requirements of pharmaceuticals, specialty, and supply items through pharmacy prime vendors multi complex accounts or other mandatory sources.
• Assists in determining ordering intervals and stock levels appropriate to meet changes in formulary, brand to AB rated generic drugs, contract changes, conversions, new drug indications including backorders and seasonal changes.
• Procures all types of pharmaceuticals including controlled and non controlled drugs within established VA ordering guidelines, policies, and procedures within inventory management specialized area with the understanding of proper budget utilization.
• Purchases using government issued credit cards for micro purchase limits with understanding of when to use; while maintaining required proper documentation, and reconciliation of receipt of all orders for auditing and accountability purposes, training, etc.
• Utilizes proper inventory management to ensure sufficient stock of medications and supply are available to meet the needs of the pharmacy and patient care.
• Removes expired medications from stock and processes them for safe removal, according to VHA Directives and standard operating procedures.
• Possesses technical working knowledge and follows established policies and procedures of usage rates, stock levels, inventory maintenance concepts including just-in-time inventory and assist in annual or semiannual pharmacy wall-to-wall inventory.
• Possesses technical knowledge of all aspects of drug characteristics and nomenclature for procurement and stock maintenance including: (1) Generic and brand names (2) Dosage forms (3) Various systems of weights and measures (4) Drug product codes (5) Drug AB rating equivalence.

Performs various duties in connection with the stocking of shelves in an Exchange store or storeroom.  Unpacks, segregates and stocks counter and/or shelves with merchandise in accordance with established Planogram (POG) instructions.  May be required to move and stock merchandise within the storage area, as necessary.

Price stamps merchandise. May operate a price tag machine.  Assists in the conduct of periodic inventories by counting stock items remaining on shelves. Assists in keeping storage and sales area clean and orderly. May assist sales personnel in bagging and wrapping customer purchase.

Picks up empty boxes/containers from work areas using hand cart. Moves to assigned area for disposal. Operates a compactor machine to crush empty boxes. Removes crushed boxes from machine and ties up for pickup by authorized vendor. May perform light custodial duties/ general housekeeping duties such as cleaning or dusting fixtures.

Performs a variety of receptionist, timekeeping, record keeping and miscellaneous duties in medical facility; uses departmental software to produce printouts for logistic and medical staff; establishes office files and record systems; utilizes a variety of automated systems to enter, update, revise, sort, and calculate data; monitors purchase requests; process receipts; and monitor active and delinquent invoices; develops reports and spreadsheets, obtains, organizes, files and retrieves reports for briefing and presentation purposes.
