- Manage and maintain web-based solutions and new media tools that are used to advance public understanding and engagement in important public policy initiatives.
- Serves as a lead for public outreach to enhance public knowledge of the Bureau, the public lands, and their various resources, particularly with the new media.
- Provide consistent, coordinated, timely and accurate information shared across social media platforms.
- Develop new media strategies to inform and educate the public, interest groups, and public land users.
- Serve as the writer and editor for a weekly electronic newsletter, Newsbytes.
- Create successful campaigns using Facebook, Twitter/X, Flickr, YouTube and other social media tools, and executes outreach campaigns accurately and efficiently.
- Work with outside agencies and organizations to promote understanding, support, and cooperation regarding the BLM's multiple-use mission through the use of new media.
- Coordinate media coverage of BLM issues, programs, and activities and arranges interviews with managers and subject matter experts.
