The SEN Team are seeking to recruit one full time and one part time Education Health and Care Plan Writers.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and communication skills. They will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the relevant legislation, the continuum of need and the ability to gather and analyse information from both families and professionals. Good organisational and time management skills are essential along with a working knowledge of IT. Previous experience of writing and amending EHC plans is desirable.

The post Holder will sit in the (SEN) Special Educational Needs Team in the Peoples Directorate.

This role includes liaising with parents or carers of children with Special Educational Needs and a wide range of partner organisations such as health and social care professionals, education psychologists, special teachers and staff from schools and colleges. The post holder will play a fundamental role in supporting children, young people and families through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process and amendments to EHC plans following an annual review. This requires interpreting reports and advice writing statutory Education, Health and Care Plans (EHC) that are high quality and fully compliant with the Childrens and Families Act.

The SEN Team is located at The Portal building in Ellesmere Port however the role will require the post holder to travel across the authority to attend meetings with children and their families in their educational setting.

What you'll be doing

- In liaison with the Bid Managers, Business Development Managers, Sector Directors participate and develop win strategies for all PQQ’s and tender submissions.
- Proactively lead the planning, storyboarding, response reviews and the overall timely preparation of high-quality submissions
- Work alongside the Bid Manager(s) to drive the overall bid strategy and identity win themes / USPs of our approach.
- Undertake storyboarding sessions with PQQ / ITT team members, working alongside the Bid Manager to ensure that all storyboards are reviewed.
- Support and deputise for the Head of Proposals
- Coach and develop individuals in the bid writing team.
- Facilitate and lead Opportunity Start Up and content planning workshops, compile output and organise in-conjunction with the bid manager regular follow up meetings to conclude actions and improve our position.
- Work with the Bid Manager(s) and Head of Proposals to develop a proposal structure, setting timescales for tender responses, and ensuring internal deadlines are met (escalating issues as required).
- Undertake lead author role on key bids, writing PQQ and ITT submissions, and providing critiques of draft responses, proof reading and copy editing.
- Translate complex technical & bespoke material from various sources into concise, easily understandable, organised, one-voice styled content.
- Be able to edit and proofread all documentation prior to submission, ensuring the bid and proposal documentation is formatted, collated and presented in a professional manner.
- Work alongside the Head of Proposals identify new processes, using industry experience and expertise to ensure progressive improvements in processes.
- Support our operational teams for the behavioural requirements of bids, specifically, training/preparation of operations personnel prior to interviews/assessments and written responses.
- Successfully work on multiple PQQs and ITTs
- Train, inspire and upskill bid and proposals teams so that they are better equipped to win work and take an interest in their personal development. Support the development of knowledge management tools.
- Be disciplined and flexible in achieving deadlines and have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
- Proven experience in the creation of bids and presentations to a high quality

The role - Bid Writer

Mental Health Care These clinical divisions provide mental health, brain injury, addiction and child and adolescent mental health services in different areas across Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Warrington. We are looking for nursing and health care assistants for our inpatient wards. Posts will be based in: complex care, older peoples services, adult acute mental health, specialist and rehabilitation wards. Secure This clinical division is responsible for providing specialised mental health and learning disability services in low, medium and high secure settings for service users with a primary classification of mental illness, and personality disorders. Our nursing assistants must be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy to our patients, working to improve the quality of care within a secure/forensic environment. In this division youll gain experience in forensic environments. We are recruiting for our new state of the art low secure facility Aspen Wood that is opening in September 2023, the new low secure site will offer world class care in a new therapeutic environment delivering an entirely new model of secure learning disability care Aspen Wood will have two wards, with their names chosen by service users: Hodder Ward (for female service users) and Mitton Ward (for males). There will also be a gym, caf and a variety of therapeutic and clinical spaces. There will be public art, designed alongside service users, as well as extensive gardens and open spaces. Aspen Wood has been designed to provide a safe, therapeutic environment to support some of the most complex patients in the NHS, and enable them to move through services and reduce the length of stay. In addition to the services above we are actively recruiting for roles that are based in our Low Secure Unit at Hollins Park, Warrington.
