• Prepare presentations for mission status reviews. Represent the Launch Services Program (LSP) at these reviews and present status of the launch vehicle and/or spacecraft systems, delineating problem areas and feasible solutions.
• Responsible for the management/development of mission-unique hardware and software to support mission requirements. Lead a multi-discipline team responsible for the integration of the spacecraft to launch vehicle.
• Develop/execute resource requirements to provide launch service with mission guidelines. Organize mission readiness reviews for senior NASA management. Participate in launch preparations, the launch, and subsequent flight operations as required.
• Resolve highly technical, complex compatibility problems between the various systems and/or organizations associated with the mission.
• Manage in-house mission trade studies/system analysis in support of NASA initiatives/activities. Perform independent technical checks on contractor, commercial, or other government generated mission studies to evaluate future mission feasibility.

• Make recommendation on the feasibility of concepts and conflicting program and engineering requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates for each phase of assigned projects, including escalation and inflation factors, description, and justifications for use in obtaining project funding and bid evaluations.
• Provide input in the preparation of technical and economic feasibility studies for development and presentation of project and budget proposals.

• Serves as Installation Management Branch Chief supporting DLA Disposition Services facilities.
• Plans, manages, directs, and reviews the work of employees and contractors engaged in providing a range of major support services for the worldwide DLA Disposition Services SRM program.
• Maintains involvement in the planning, permitting, construction, commissioning, renovation, inspection, decommissioning, and/or demolition of structures, installed equipment, infrastructures, and their environmental systems.
• Provides engineering, scientific, environmental, planning, real estate, and energy management support to the 110+/- CONUS and OCONUS Disposition Services facilities.
• Plans, directs and administers the physical inspections, quality assurance and administrative audits to evaluate facility and staff compliance with applicable energy management standards for facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
• Maintains liaison and an effective working relationship with HQ DLA organizations including the professional staffs in DLA Installation Management, the Military Service organizations, and other Department of Defense agencies and private industry.
• Leads studies, analysis, workflow processes and business cases in development of new products and in continuous study of existing services.

• Serves as a senior facilities engineer and responsible for the Real Property Maintenance and Military Construction programs for regional DLA Disposition Services locations.
• Advises on all aspects of facilities engineering, including related professional mechanical, electrical, industrial, architectural, energy, environmental, and safety engineering and engineering management matters for assigned responsibilities.
• Responsible for project management, design, layout, construction maintenance, and repair of projects consisting of electrical, mechanical, industrial, and architectural systems.
• Prepares facility engineering project documentation including cost estimates, design alternatives, economic analyses, project development brochures and environmental assessments.
• Serves as a consultant to the Command Group and the Resource Board, answering technical questions, and provides advice, assistance and professional design reference for all assigned sites.

In this role you will be responsible for...

Communication/Programming/Outreach

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, local non-profits, and other County departments.

• Assist with a calendar of scheduled visits of our outreach vehicle, to sites across Sarasota, especially those serving children, seniors and underserved populations throughout the County.

• Analyze and identify service population needs, and develop plans to meet those needs.

• Promote the understanding and use of the library and its resources.

• Offer outreach services in coordination with team members and Library System Staff.

• Plan and direct library programming for adults, young adults, and children, in coordination with team members and Library System Staff.

• Provide formal/informal instruction to individuals/groups on use of library resources, learning tools, etc.

• Initiate, design, facilitate and evaluate education programs; collaborate on activities and programs related to pop-up library services and community goals.

• Load and unload book trucks on the Pop-up Library vehicle and drive the vehicle to outreach facilities.

• Perform collection development and maintenance for the Pop-up Library vehicle.

Customer Service

• Develop and implement standards of service that ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by internal and external customers, delivered with the utmost respect and courtesy.

• Recommend informational resources and materials for education and enrichment.

• Present individual and group training programs for public in the use of technology and equipment, and library resources.

• General reference service in assisting customers by locating answers to questions, including Interlibrary Loan services and referral to agencies outside the library.

• Keep abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries.

• Represent Sarasota County to library users.

Administration

• Integrate research and monitor patterns and trends into planning process.

• Assist, lead, develop, implement, and /or evaluate special projects, services and library programs.

• Collaborate with internal core services to manage operational issues, support community goals and form strategic partnerships.

• Assist with collecting statistics and outcome measures to evaluate goals for the unit.

Staff Development

• Participate in cross training in other sections and aid in cross training in their section.

• Attend agency, system-wide, local, regional, state, and national meetings and workshops to enhance professional skills.

• Participate in the development of goals and/or objectives for the Outreach Services Team. 

Work Hours:

• Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

• Must be available to work: Sunday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

• Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc.

• Employee may be re-assigned to a different work location (other than original assignment) within the library system to meet changing service needs.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Library and Information Science.

• -OR- Bachelors degree and enrolled in a MLS/MLIS program with the ability to obtain a MLS/MLIS within twelve (12) months of hire.

• Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of experience in a library environment.

• The Fellow will be provided with a broad overview of all Sarasota County Government services and functions offered through the County orientation program.
