Perform lab experiments and report data based on given experiment direction. Lead safety activities as safety focal point. Lead or support other tasks associated with product development and promotional activities. Proactively solve issues and make improvement to contribute to innovation and safety.

Responsibilities / Duties

<Project Support>

- Support engineer's lab work for sample preparation, process development.

- Collect analytical data by using several analytical instruments, such as GC, LC, viscosity analyzer, and so on.

- Learn and operate lab equipment, such as mixer, emulsifier, filter, glassware.

-Report lab experiment data to engineer with timely manner. 

<Safety Focal Point>

- Lead Process R&D team safety activities.

- Contribute to keep 5S through monthly audit.

- Attend R&D safety monthly meeting.

This position does not offer relocation assistance.

Provides engineering support to address plant issues that are impacting production over a short period of time. Provides technical expertise which may be equipment based or repair technique based that impacts the availability and maintainability of the facility.
Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
• Develops maintenance operating discipline.
• Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
• Ensures that work requests include engineering input on repair details and if necessary provides onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data, for equipment that is critical for the process.
• Ensures repairs, repair techniques and equipment specific training are documented and made available.
• Provides maintainability input to Global Project Methodology activities.
• Supports the preventive maintenance coordinator, as required, in reviewing spare parts list for existing equipment.
• Enters quality, service and product performance information into the reporting system.
• Participates in developing the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.
• Provides engineering input for work packages to ensure standards are followed, as required. Provides input on development of work orders during development of turnaround work particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.
• Provides equipment reliability and performance data to the technical resource networks for input into equipment purchasing requirements, evaluation of equipment performance, vendor performance, and modifications to MET.
• Completes EH&S orientation and all required training. Exhibits safe work behaviors and works safely without injury or insult to the environment. Fulfills all requirements of the production area and/or maintenance area EH&S.
• Supports Industrial Hygiene and other EH&S work process activities. Incorporates safety considerations in planning and maintenance implementation. Understands impact of process chemistry with respect to materials of construction or lubrication.
• Uses maintenance spending, reliability, and maintenance metrics for assigned area. Understands objectives of the Facility Maintenance Strategy for assigned areas and relevant history of equipment failures.
• Analyzes impact of equipment failures on maintenance spending to identify improvement opportunities. Initiates reliability related MOCs and effectively implement change in own area of responsibility in coordination with appropriate leadership. Understands principles of Long Term Cost of Ownership. Analyzes and troubleshoots maintenance spending in assigned area with coaching.

Experience

• A Bachelor or Master Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Material Science / Metallurgical Engineer.

Key Role:

Lead the selection of location and development of client facilities requirements and approaches to achieve the desired functional end-state and to support the Firm’s Real Estate (RE) Strategy. Develop solutions based on advanced principles within the real estate, facilities, and construction trades. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with developing, reviewing, analyzing, and updating Basic Facility Requirements (BFRs) and project scoping document

• Experience drafting site plan concepts or floor plan concepts and feasibility analysis, and developing associated cost impact analysis

• Knowledge of CAD or GIS tools to analyze civil and utility information, maps, drawings, and aerial photography to develop planning documents and requirements

• Knowledge of U.S. government planning standards and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)

• Ability to maintain a consistent interface with multiple stakeholders, coordinate and facilitate workshops to develop plans, and maintain planning schedules

• Secret clearance

• HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with review of Basic Criteria Packages (BCPs), collateral equipment identification and budgeting, and project execution to ensure compliance with the Master Plan

• Knowledge of internet Facilities Asset Data System (iNFADS) and the Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS)

• Knowledge of Marine Corps Order 11000.12, Real Property Facilities Manual, and Facilities Planning and Programming

• Ability to propose changes to and provide alternatives for compatibility with the Master Plan and schedule, including planning and engineering studies and zoning criteria, such as noise, airfield and airspace criteria, aircraft accident potential, flood hazards, erosion control, and natural resources protection

• Bachelor's degree preferred

Other Requirements: This is a physically demanding position that often requires extensive walking, standing for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs., the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position generally involves working in a clean room, it requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
